    Default http vrs torrent

I guess there have been issues with the mirrors, leechers, and all sorts of crazy stuff. Some people have been suggesting moving to torrent rather than http dl. I dont know if this is the case for everyone, but my college network does not allow me to use torrent at all. One of the main reasons i use and visit this site so often is because all of the dls are http and organized beautifully. I would be very sad if a shift like that meant that I could no longer use this site. Just throwing this out there, because i doubt im the only one in this situation.

why dont you use IRC then?
    most scanlators/subbers have one?
all you have to do is wait for the queue to let you dowload it?

i say HTTP is convienient but Bittorrent is MUCH better in the long run.

I agree with Aikido... Living in the university campus is a pain in the ass... We're restricted from BT and IRC... Really hope they won't switch to BT... We rely on HTTP dls to survive ^^

in terms of popularity and ease of use i say direct download is much better however the cost in maintaing ddl is exp and so most sites prefer torrent or irc.

maybe having the unpopular/completed series torrented and the others ddl maybe a solution?

MY Uniy does not allow for any type of download that is not direct from a website. It is insane. I live and die off this website.
    I am old school here.

considering that a very good portion of the people on this forum are in university, and that most schools seem to be restricting in a similar manner (banning BT and IRC), i hope that the admins here realize that people like us really do rely on HTTP downloads to get our scanslations. While we do understand that there are ways that ar better for bandwidth and server maintenance, as far as customer service and convinience, i think i can speak for everyone in saying that nothing can compare to the way things are run now.

I'm in a uni too.. but i'm living in an apartment just right across my campus. So BT would be no problem for me. But if my memory serves me right the BT addition thing doesnt mean that the direct download is going to be stopped. They're just going to add BT in addition to the direct downloads to help ease up the bandwidth i suppose. It's a great idea and i cant wait for it to be implemented.
