Whatever happened to the idea of automagically trimming the Latest Downloads to, for ex, the last month, instead of completely wiping it out every once in a while?
I ask because if, say, someone's away from their computer for the couple days between one update and the wipeout, they lose the chance to dl those last updates. And honestly, the Latest Downloads is one of the better resources of this site, for those who are unwilling or unable to scrape IRC for new chapters of series we don't host.
We would have to have things recoded to do this. I suppose it is possible if enough people wanted it. For the most part though we do not purge latest downloads that often. Right now we have 70GB of manga sitting in the latest_downloads folder.
Is that just the stuff from the last update? (with the last six months gone?)

Can someone kindly enough to repost last update, at least? Because i didn't got to d/l them because the lack of a reminder. I remember that the last time latest download updates will be cleaned, someone will post a reminder that latest download section will be cleaned in few days...
Well I meant 70GB sitting in the old latest_downloads folder. After I delete the files from our DB I move the files on our server to another folder to sort. That's how I collected our last update over 200+ series so quickly as we had most of the files already.Quote:
