    Default "Update Thread" button

would it be simple to implement an "update thread" button, where before you reply you could click it to check whether other people replied before you ? similar to how gmail has a "update conversation" button that lets you check whether someone had replied before you did. it'd be a nice feature in active threads.

Yeah. We have one of those. Its the thing labeled "F5" on your keyboard.

I'd like to die with the songs I love stuck in my head. I hope to make the most of these hollow bones we become.
I raise a toast to the the souls that sang all along. I've been gathering friends to just to make some sounds,
before the ship goes down, I've been making amends by making the rounds before the whole world ends

problem with the F5 button is that it erases what you've typed already. of course i could work around it by typing it elsewhere or copying the text or even just edit it later; but i'm just wondering if this would be an easy feature to implement, and it'd be nice to have if so.

Someone would have to code it or create a hack to do it. It's not something I can do myself, so for the time being we will have to do without it.

This is coming a little late, but if you're typing in the advanced reply screen you can hit "preview post" and it will refresh the posts that are shown beneath. Doesn't help with quick reply though, sorry.

If you are typing in the quick reply area, just click "go advanced".
