Thread: Downloading manga by volumes

Hello everyone, ive known this site for a while, and I like the way its set up so that all the manga is easily accessable.
However ive noticed that other sites have the option to download entire volumes rather than chapter by chapter - this makes life so much easier, as it reduces the number of files, less work for the individual and speeds things up (considering how slow the download rate is already).
I think you guys should make stoptazmo be able to download by volumes!

I am going to be increasing the download rate today, volumes I cannot do due to the amount of space it would require. We are already running out of space.

if compressed in volume, woudln't it save more space? an maybe u can limit the download by 2 volume per member at 1 time. so the limit will not overload...

i believe it will much easier to download and the speed will be maximum for every member to download...

I do not believe many of our users would be happy with downloading Volumes of manga. The majority of our users seem to only collect a certain amount of chapters, perhaps some they are missing from their collection and I would not want to risk changing things all the way around which might destroy this sites user base over such a thing.

The only way we could do this is to get another hard drive which I am doing anyways, seeing as we only have 5GB space free on our hard drive at this point, but that would still mean I would have to redownload every manga series I've already uploaded, and at this point we have 735 Manga Series public, and about 89 additional manga series I have just uploaded that I am going to be posting in the next few days. I simply don't have the time to do such a thing.

Maybe we should expand the staff to a bit more than just one. We've 300,000 members, someone should be qualified, trustworthy, and able to help...

There is another person who does help locate missing chapters, but other than that I am all alone. At least this way I can be sure things get done. It takes a lot of time and dedication.

well, you could do it like this:

Ch1-
Ch2 |
Ch3 |-Vol1 replaceing the Seperate Chapters with a full Vol.Pack(space use keeps the same)
Ch4 |
Ch5-
Ch6 but the newer Ch keep Seperate, as they are not complete,
Ch7 and will be packed in a full Vol.Pack 1 or 2 weeks, after its copletition
(so ppl have a still bit time to DL single Chapters)
Also, with Pack you would have "less" files to monitor.

And speaking about Space, why dont you take out a few of the Scanlations that were dropped
or no one like/read. digimon_d-cyber for example was put in 1 year ago and since then nothing new.

But dont take me wrong, you're the admin and you'll know best what you do.
I just gave my opinion, and i know, it's not an easy task to keep everything up here.
For me its ok how it is!

This would be even harder than adding complete volumes. If we only had 5-10 manga series it would not be a problem, but we have 735 series and something like this is not possible for the amount of staff we have here. It's a good suggestion, but it will not work out. I would like to keep the older manga series even though no one might download them. I would like this site to become a place where you can get any manga series or chapter no matter how old or new which is why I keep the older and complete manga series.
