i think a list should pop up on the main pages. It's what bugs me the most about this site. Just a list of what has been updated that day.

what i like to do, is to open "latest downloads" in a new tab to see the latest updates. then you could go find what you need without navigating back and forth =\ it's not too much trouble
the problem is this site only updates several manga= =
lots of the older one got fogotten and left behind.
i dont blame mod, i know there are so many manga here but pliss update them all= =

So we don't update old manga huh? OK smartass, go find some updates for us.
And even if there are updates, you try keeping track of 387 series.
It's that 387 series that kinda worries me. With every big batch of additions, there's more that aren't getting updated. (If I'd been anal-annoying in the right, er, wrong way, I'd've kept statistics and produce a graph here.) Of the 40-odd series hosted on ST that I actively follow, there's a handful that haven't been updated with new chapters in at least four months, and about a dozen with chapters released within the last month that haven't been added. And no I haven't pinged Kane with this because I'm not suicidal; it'd drive me fugbuck too to get all those messages form users, no matter whether helpful or irritated. For most of chapters, I've been able to find other sources anyway (even outside of Latest Downloads, where some appear). But it does diminish the value of ST as an archive.
I do wonder whether Kane should consider delegating collecting updates for some series. Keeping track of all 387 AND system administration is a metric boxcar of work.
Today is always the most enjoyable day. Just ask Yotsuba.
It's true that some series aren't being updated, but that might sometimes be the way chapters are released. For example - a few months ago (it might still be this way now), the last Prince of Tennis chapter on this site was... 328, or something? while at least ten or eleven more chapters had been released. Yet #lurk didn't have those newest chapters, either. So one of the problems might be that these chapters aren't available through the usual channels, so to speak; you can find them if you look hard enough, but with that many series, there probably isn't time to look (and I was just starting the series at that time; I'm not up-to-date now because of that).

IIRC Kane get all his updates from #lurk, if you know of a series that has chapters that haven't been uploaded, the best thing to do is to check lurk. If the chapters are no on lurk, go to the lurk forums and ask for them to be uploaded (give a link to a place where the lurk staff can download them), if they are on lurk, just wait and hope that Kane sees them (he probably will eventually).
Its been considered before (I've offered to help multiple times). Last time I offered, Kane said he would rather upload the chapters himself, so I think the best thing to do here would be to have a small group of people who monitor new releases and uploads (and also to spot to see if the are uploaded into the correct series, much as you do already).
Um, no, I don't agree with you. I'm agreeing with 98 and pseudorandom. There ARE some series that don't get updated, but that's because either the chapters aren't available or they aren't available on #lurk (which means good luck finding them, because it'll take you a while).
So yeah - go find the chapters if you want them updated.
Oh, and don't be a smart ass just because 98 has a different way of saying things. Learn some respect, because we don't appreciate that kind of intolerance towards respected members here.

There are a lot of series in which updates are probably missing from. I collect my manga from #lurk mostly, and a few other IRC channels, but there are some that are hard to find and others that I missed.
Keep in mind though, I am one person I cannot do everything, and we are no longer accepting donations. I've contacted pseudorandom already about him helping collect missing chapters, but even that at 387 series or so public, and 210 that I have just sitting on FTP waiting to be released to the public, so we will soon be up to ~600 or so, it's hard to keep updated.
