Thread: Sorting Chapters descending

I think new Chapters should be placed on top, so Chapter 01 is allways at the bottom.
It speeds up the check for new Chapters if you missed the update on the frontpage and your connection is quite slow.

Seriously though, I think its a good (if unnecessary) idea, since it would seem slightly more logical.

i wont call it a bad idea... but damn its flippin LAZY. although now that i think about it it would be inconvienient for mac users to drop down 400+ lines to get the latest One Piece.

Or they could hold down on the scroll buttons, or even easier, they could just hit "End" on their keyboard. SO ye, its still lazy, but why make people scroll when they don't have to? Thats why I say its more logical to have the latest chapter at the top of the list, since there will be more people who want the latest chapter than those who want to start downloading the series. Plus its easier if you want to check what chapter ST is up to with scanlations for a series.

Not all mice have scroll buttons (ie: school mice... before the scroll wheel was INVENTED). But whatever - that's what the bar on the side of the screen is for. To me, the order makes sense - first one first. You read DOWN, don't you? And if you download an entire series, it just seems weird to go from the bottom-up.

But he said that his problem is that the connection is slow, not that he doesn't feel like scrolling down to the latest chapter (though even if that is the case the time it would save would be negligible compared to the time he has to spend actually downloading).

maybe adding a link on the DL page that takes you to the bottom would be more useful? just like how they have [Back To Top] links just one that goes to the bottom.

The main problem for me with his idea is that not everyone is just downloading the latest chapters, some people are trying new series for the first time or replacing ones that were lost in hard drive crashes etc. And as much as I can almost see where the opener is coming from, I was on dialup less than 3 years ago myself, all they really need is some patience. It shouldn't take more than a minute or two max for the page to open, play some music or do it while reading a chapter or webcomic page then you won't notice the delay as much.

What about the Latest Downloads section, though? In that particular case, it might make more sense to have latest at the top, instead of at the bottom.
