Thread: Dammit, can you make an anti-necro rule?

I'm getting tired of seeing Misc Series threads get necroed. It seems that every newbie nowadays takes it upon himself to find an ancient recommendation thread and bump it. It's annoying, and pointless. Can you guys implement some sort of rule, whereby those who necro old threads get shot, or something like that?

I'd, you know, ask to be made mod of that section, but I seem to recall narrowly escaping a ban the last time I asked for modship...though I suspect the danger is lessened with Martyr's apparent absence.

Technically, it has Martyr - but...

The problem is that people don't search before creating new threads, which means that we have multiple threads of practically everything. Seeing as how a necro is usually of some stupid poll or whatnot, or a request because the idiot didn't read the rules...

It depends on the topic and the reasonings.

Bad topic = bad.
Asking for manga request (new topic) = bad.
Necroing for request = bad
Necroing to report news (ie: new chapter) = good.

I think we need a definition of "necro" then.

since i tend to BASH idiots who make repeat threads id rather have them necro a topic... no need for forty threads asking for manga similar to naruto. ESPECIALLY when theres a MISC SEREIS LIST that no one seems to look in anymore.

Agreed, I'd much rather have them necro than make new threads. If they necro, let them.
Tho' you are a respected member, your not the only member of this forum.

If recommendation threads are a big problem, that can be solved.
