Recognition for Scanslation Groups
Hi, I run the scanslation group Hanashi. You host one of our projects, Kurozakuro on your site. Girsej posted in the help forum about tags, but I feel like this is the better place to say this. Whether or not you keep our tags on the filenames of our files, I feel that the least you can do is let downloaders know what groups brought them the manga that they're downloading. It's fine if you strip off our tags, so long as on your Kurozakuro page you provide the name of our group and a link to our website.
You may think I sound arrogant about this, but we spend a lot of time on each chapter not only making manga readable for the english-speaking community, but ensuring that each chapter has as high a quality of translation and editing as we can provide. So while I'm happy that sites like this provide a place where people can have easier access to our projects, I believe that you owe us, and other groups, this little bit of recognition.
You missed the part where your credits page was still in there, complete with links.
What is the link to your groups website?

What good is it anyway to have your name on filename? Not liek you'll get more money, or any, for that matter. If you're like me, you could care less about the group so long as it's scanlated in the first place.
I know you don't change the contents of files. If you did then I wouldn't be politely requesting, I'd be calling you hypocrites (since I'm told that narutofan does remove credits.)
It's just that I'd like there to be some scanlator recognition on your site itself, not just our own credits inside of our files. We like to hear from the people that read our projects, and for some of those readers, it takes a handy link on the website they download from for them to visit us. We don't get paid to do this after all, I don't even take donations to cover the money I put into it (web hosting costs, buying manga to scan ect.), so a little recognition is really the only thing we expect to get in return from the manga reading community.
So all I'm requesting is a little help from your site. Just add our group name and web addy (http://www.hanashi.org) to your Kurozakuro page. I can't force you to do this, so all I can hope is that you understand where I'm coming from and are willing to do a tiny bit of extra work to keep us happy. I'll even link to you from our kuro project page as a place where people can download if you want.
PS: Here's a link banner if you want to use it.
I agree with Druidx, scanlation groups take a lot of time out of their busy lives to release manga into the manga community to be enjoyed around the world. The least we can do is post their name and website on each of their projects. Good luck Druidx!
it's not like my opinion worths a lot or anything, but yeah, since some mangas have nothing in their manga summary, you could add the name of the groups (coz, just for letting DRUIDX know, some mangas are being hosted with several groups working on them, so you'll find that chapter 1 to 20 of some manga were scanlated by some group, 21 to 35 by another, and so on) and the URL to their sites... coz I think it's kinda greedy to ask the scanlation group name in the filename
it's not like nobody is paying attention to your group, druid, some of us (if not, most or all) are very thankful to the groups that let us have this kind of projects...if anybody is interested in the scanlations your groups is working on, they'll sure pay a visit (at least, I always read the credits page)
I might change the location of the link, but your link is on the download page for your series.
Thanks for listening to me.
Now if only something could be done about narutofan making money off our projects... *cough* *cough* legal action from licensed manga publishers. I honestly don't want to add watermarks to pages of our manga, since i think that's rather ugly...
