wow, it finally came to an end.
i felt like it truly ended after the shinryuuji arc. the oujou arc was decent, but after that - dinosaurs, alexanders, america - the story just went downhill. especially this last "international" arc, it felt so rushed, like the manga was dying in popularity and the mangaka just wanted to end it somehow. oh well, will tune in for the finale. hope it'll do the series some good. |

Wow. It's finally ending. Well, it's been a pleasant ride. True, I thought the series also started declining after the Oujou arc, so I'm glad the writer and mangaka are at least ending it while it's still decent instead of trying to keep it going.
It'll probably end with Japan winning, but still getting a disqualification because they broke the rules, so no MVP award. And I guess Sena will inherit the captaincy after original Devilbat trio leave. It'll probably be like Slamdunk's ending... half-bittersweet, but that's sports for you. -Dizzy-

The massacre is nearly over. Thank fucking god. I'm with the majority here who think the series' glory days ended when Deimon beat Ojou. The match against Teikoku had some good action at least, but this World Youth Cup arc has been a highly offensive farce.
Have to say, though, I genuinely can't guess who's going to win the MVP award. If it does end up being Sena I'll be very annoyed as a) that is so bloody cliche and b) for once he doesn't actually deserve it. My money is on Panther. First time I saw the title page I thought "what the fuck does that title mean?!" It made sense once we got to Bud's comment about accepting a draw, but the initial impression was VERY strange. But what if your sister is utterly hot?

I feel like having sena be quarterback at the end of the world cup is gonna foreshadow him being quarterback of deimon.
which is dumb.

i agree that the last suspenseful thing is who's MVP. since it's someone from the japanese team, i'm guessing it'll be hiruma. makes sense, since one of the last mysteries is who his father is. it'll tie in with the MVP-thing.
not sure if i speak for all brothers, but thinking of a sister that way just feels really wrong =| i agree that it's a pretty stupid title though, lol |

yeah i hope its hiruma myself. he definently deserves it. and although since he wasnt on the team there is no chance imagine everyones reaction if ishimaru became the mvp.
