Yes! Just the way I had imagined it--the Devilbats would lose, but Sena would beat Yamato. Good stuff.

It may be empty hope at this point and we'll probably see the real end later but don't forget when Sena and Yamato faced off there were still five seconds. Until next week we don't know if the time ran out.

Still, Yamato was never stopped once. I'd say that Yamato retains his title as the real Eyeshield 21. The only way they could rid of all loose ends is if they manage to kick in a field goal (going for a touch would use up the valuable 5 seconds, the kick is the fastest bet) then do an onside kick to which it would be Yamato VS Sena again. This time, Yamato would attempt to go past Sena again, but instead of trying to stop Yamato, Sena would just steal the ball or something and thus end Yamato's reign as the Best Running Back, and then make another touch down.

... But that's just too predictable...

well, thats left 5secs..didn't remember which match is it the match decision decided by 1sec left where match only finish when the ball grounded..means there's still hope for deimon..and now how hiruma will make it??
from christ cross to evil cross..that's unexpected..and combining devil 4th dimension and devil bat ghost as a genuine speed really comicly but awesome..

all that's left is to see whether or not they'll be able to score a TD with this last play, which almost 100% certainly has to be an onside kick.

Well, even with the touch down, they have to save at least 1 second for the extra point. However, with the magic of the manga world, I'm sure they'll pull it off.

There really is only one thing they can do, barring using "Namek time" (since 5 seconds is time for only ONE more play, no matter what, which has to be the kickoff).

First, they have to make a 2-point conversion. This will be hell for them, leading to more intense drama.

Then Musashi has to land the kickoff inside Teikoku's end zone and Sena has to blitz the entire field while it's in the air and bring down the receiver for a safety. This will bring them up to even, and it'll be Deimon's ball going into overtime.

Then we get overtime. It could go on indefinitely.

I have to admit, I'm looking forward to it.
