And the royal ass-kicking of Deimon, especially Monta, continues. Thoughts? Predictions? Confessions of love for Karin?

I am kind of glad that Eyeshield 21 is ending with this (right?). I'm going to be really annoyed if they make some last minute comeback and win. I think they are going to lose though. They will probably make some valiant last minute effort but come up short, me thinks.

i agree that deimon definitely shouldn't win this match. we haven't seen yamato at full strength yet, we've yet to see karin play (next chapter!), and deimon already seems to be going at full-throttle.
how i feel this should end: deimon ends the game with getting a TD and showing that it is possible to eventually compete with teikkoku. but not this year. and not in this manga.
I agree with you guys. Even if Deimon doesn't win, I'd be satisfied if they at least scored some points. Yamato "predicted" that they wouldn't score, after all.
I think one weapon Deimon has that's always been the best is Musashi's kicking. We've never seen a better kicker and probably never will, even in Teikoku.
two thoughts about the current arc:
- monta could beat/compete with taka if the ball was inside both their ranges (the little domes from this chapter). that would require hiruma to think up plans for that to happen.
- when yamato goes full power, sena will have a hard time stopping him. i think jumonji will probably play an important role in this. only kakei has seen yamato play a game, and he decided to pass on his skills to jumonji. i believe kakei already knew what it takes to stop him.
edit: and yah, musashi's kick will probably be an important weapon - teikkoku has nothing like that
Mmm, totally forgot about Kakei. I would say that Shin would have a better overall chance of stopping Yamato than Kakei, but hopefully Kakei knows something about his run. It's the only chance they have, aside from a possible strategy from Hiruma.
And as for Musashi, I just thought of something--if Taka can jump high enough, he may be able to intercept the ball on its way up. He's a long jumper, so it's more about distance than height, but there's always that risk.
maybe hiruma learned the corkscrew...
about musashi, after re-reading most of the manga today, i was thinking how he was called the 60 yard magnum and how he wasn't able to get it in from that distance in reality. maybe in this match, he'll finally be able to.
I am really glad that this will the last game and ES21 will come to an end (hopefully) afterwards.
I love this series, but I am so sick of this supersayajinplayer crap.
deimon should win and break the tradition of teikoku of winning all christmas bowls in history... and they should also build their own dynasty
