    Default 277th Down

Raw is out. I couldn't understand/was too lazy to look up most of it, but basically Sena and co. get to sit in on Teikoku's meeting evaluating Deimon's players. That one retard from Bando gets yelled at by Heracles, and we find out Taka is Honjou's kid. Hiruma rolls around in what appears to be that oxygen capsule thing referenced two or so chapters ago, except it's strapped to a Segway(I presume so he can heal extra fast by spending all his time in it instead of just sleeping in it?). Close with a bunch of badass Kantou area all-stars who are going to help Deimon prepare.

I can't really say I'm suprised by the Taka reveal. The spread on the last two pages was win.

Indeed. I was amused to see Agon missing from it with his twin in his place. Also, I wonder who would win in a showdown: Shin or Yamato? Yamato's running style is different from Sena's, and is probably based more on strength. Shin is both the strongest and fastest linebacker in Japan.

Unfortunately, we'll never get to see it happen. I'm not even sure if Shin can offer Sena any advice, since their body types are so different.

No, but Shin can be an excellent practice opponent for Sena since he has both speed and strength just like Yamato (Yamato may be stronger and faster, of course...). Meanwhile, Riku can help Sena refining his running techniques.

Good call. Hopefully Shin's improved since their last match, since Sena did defeat him and all. And Riku was overwhelmed by Hakushuu. We just have to remember that while these players are excellent, Sena too is a great player in his own right.

Haha, that would be cool...the Devilbats have indeed used moves and formations similar to their opponents', although adding their own Devilbat flair. I'd be interested to see what Kid can teach Hiruma.

I don't know, maybe he can improve his jump height.

But anyway, Teikokus weakness is revealed in this chapter and the previeous. Thier blantant self confindence coupled with Yamato giving Sena and company thier playbook is more than likely going to be thier undoing. After all, through out the series, Deimon has faced teams that are supposed to be better than them and they beat them. Usually by one touchdown or one point, but they defeated them nontheless.

it would be nice if agon join the coaches from hell...

but i find deimon-teikoku match to be less exciting than deimon-shinryuuji match.
maybe because im expecting that deimon would eventually defeat teikoku(cause i don't think
the author would let deimon lose now that they're in the christmas bowl). i guess the exciting part would rely on how will deimon defeat teikoku

It is always possible for Deimon to lose this match since they have already achieved their dream of going to the Christmas Bowl. However, Sena and Monta may defeat both Yamato and Taka. Teikoku will then see Deimon as a formidable opponent in future.

Anyway, if Sena and Monta are invited to join Teikoku next year, they may not even be able to rise to the fifth string team since they all have to learn the playbook (with more than 1000 plays) by heart in order to rise. The only guys in Deimon that may be able to do so are Hiruma and Yukimitsu.

I don't think Yamato can be faster than Shin since both Shin and Sena are running within the human limitations (let's hope Eyeshield 21 doesn't pull a Prince of Tennis on us). However, Yamato is probably more cunning than Shin so he definitely will be a tougher match. I think Yamato will be more like a fusion of Shin and Akaba (who I think is extremely unappreciated considering how talented he is).

I wonder if Agon will show up at the last min ... hmm.
