Im glad this happened (Hiruma) it makes the manga much more interesting now and avoids a cliched end to Eyeshield21.
I was just watching some ES anime (hey, I was bored) and I re-watched the Dokubari match and noticed how the situation could become similar. So, Ishimaru could also become qb again (again, quite lame). And Musashi and Kurita could maintain the cool of the team. But I still see Yuki as the best tactician after Hiruma, and he has been becoming increasingly important...
gawd this is such a great thread. i love you guys. *lol*
so the ideas we've come up with so far:
1) Yuki takes Hiruma's place.
2) Taki takes Hiruma's place.
3) Use of Hiruma's ripped up notes. Hiruma on sidelines.
4) Hiruma keeps playing with left arm. (though how the refs would allow this...i dunno.)
5) Sena makes runs.
gah, i don't know what to think. we all KNOW that the manga can't end like this, but how could they possibly survive! i know we've been talking about how hiruma was the crutch, and how without him things would be better, but hell, the moral is GONE now. grr....
so hey, exactly how long does it take for a broken arm to mend? his break looked pretty scary! (T_T) will it be healed in time for X-mas bowl, however long away that is?
the problem i have with the first two theories is that even if they change QB, is that they haven't practised throwing at all, and there's still a high chance of them getting shattered. that's why i say they're probably going to be like seibu and go with runs.
the problem with 3 and 4 is that hiruma blacked out already, and it would be ridiculous for someone to play with a broken arm (way too much pain). then again, it's ES21, so the ridiculous can happen.
that's the thing...being a qb means you are a good tactician and also has some strong technique on passing....things look so bad here already..long pass fail run fail gaou total pwnage....needs a miracle here...
5 is inevitable, regardless of what scenario or miracle occurs.
For 3, there's no way Hiruma wouldn't have backed up those notes. And Hiruma is the careful kind of guy to have a few trumps in most foreseeable problems. Gaou was a threat ever since Banba's team lost. That is actually a possibility.
On option 1 and 2, if Hiruma prepared successors, he probably would have trained them a little. Notice how we saw NONE of the training before this match? Its very promising, even if that card has already been played on Kurita once.
Oh, that's a sad ending. Having Gaou to break Hiruma's right arm, that's too cruel. He should have stayed longer on the field. Things just happened too fast. I bet Hiruma still intend to keep on fighting till the end. But, what can Hiruma do now?
Well I think it will be interesting if the deimon team tried to overcome this obstacle. I mean they can't depend on Hiruma and his plans forever they need to adapt.
I wonder if this means Hiruma is out for the rest of the entire football season. That would really suck.
