Who cares about advice? Who the hell is going to play Quarterback?

But hey, probalbly they find a way to win this, maybe Hiruma throwing with his left arm or something like that. As long as he only hands it to Sena that might work.

But it seems the series will end after this game and give us the Christmas Bowl in Slam Dunk style.

How do you think I knew about the chapter already? It's because I read the raw with a translation. I don't have any insider spoiler information at my fingertips, so all the threads I start will be AFTER the raws are out.

Do you really think they'd lose? If they did, ES21 would absolutely fail as a manga. Sure, it would be unexpected, but it would also let down every single fan and reader of the series. We already KNOW the Devil Bats are going to make it to the Christmas Bowl; they don't have any other option. It's the author's job to make that journey as exciting and dynamic as possible, and that includes throwing in these crazy twists. Obviously someone is going to step up and take the position, but we don't know who. That's why it's exciting even though we already know the inevitable outcome.

As I said on the LJ, this could very well be a good thing for Deimon. When you get down to it, Hiruma can play in, at best, two more games (this one, and the C. Bowl). Hiruma is a genius, who the rest of the team can lean on at certain times (Sena's running is something to lean on to), but he's also a crutch. A crutch that needs to be removed for the future good of the team.

I know this sounds cruel, but think about it. In a few months, Hiruma, Kurita, and Musashi will be gone. This is a chance for the rest of the team, For Sena, Monta, Komusubi, Taki and the brothers to prove that they are a strong viable team without the original three, that next year, the Deimon devilbats name will be safe with them. They can't do that if they continue to lean on Hiruma and his tactical genius so much.

If anything, the lss of Hiruma could very well put Hakushu off guard, and inspire Kurita to the heights he needs to beat Gaou. This is the major make or break moment for the Deimon Devilbats.

well-said. i was acually hoping it would end after the Christmas Bowl though, or at least just give a few sneak peaks at the future before ending. i don't particularly like things being drawn out.

in any case, i agree about the crutch thing. maybe playing without hiruma will strengthen the rest of the team before going to the Christmas Bowl. *IF* (emphasis on "if"), they manage to beat the Dinos, my guess is that Hiruma will spend the time training his left arm, *or* there'll be enough time for his right arm to heal.

it's obvious that Deimon won't just give up from this. even Seibu kept fighting until the very, very end; you can't expect less from Deimon.

Hiruma going down might power-up Kurita enough to defend against Dinos' attack (thus they're not going to get their 8-points every time), and thus, trigger a possibility for a comeback. Deimon will probably go for pure runs (there's no one else on Deimon that can throw accurately enough to be a QB)

For some reason, I think by the end of the next chapter, Hiruma is gonna say "You better F**king kill them!" and then hell breaks loose on the team.

Hiruma is a crutch? Well, he SHOULD be--he's the quarterback, after all. The boss, the general, the leader of the team. That being said, all of the Deimon players are vital to the success of the team; we've seen time and time again that players like Komosubi and Taki have had their moments to shine in times of dire need. And, of course the offense would be absolutely nothing without Sena and Monta. The problem is that Deimon's never had another quarterback, and certainly no one that could be as good as Hiruma.

Hehe I still have my hopes. Yukimitsu is next brain on the team, and for Deimon, having an intelligent quarterback matters much more than physique. Not much can be done about abandoning other posts to replace the qb if Hiruma is out for good though, considering Deimon only had enough players to fill a full team.

Very possible. But that would be lame. And, Taki's already evolved before. Was it the Shinryuuji or the Poseidon match or the Bando match? Don't remember...

I was talking about the scanlation. Notice how I didn't say raws?
Otherwise all the new chap threads would have been posted 2 days ago too.

Anyways, I see 3 possibilities now:
    1) Hiruma miraculously gets up and starts playing left-handed (.01% chance).
    2) Hiruma will send a successor from his team to replace him as qb (who he had already planned this situation out with before the game and trained a bit for it). This is where I hope Yuki comes in.
    3) The team executes the backup plan he was about to give Mamori before through having another member of the Devil Bats relay it or have Mamori find his note among her stuff anyways.

    Possibility of no.1:nil
Possibility of no.2 and 3it's the same actually,he was about to give mamori the list of the players who will be the qb if he got injured):not to high less than 50%
and also mamori already teared apart the paper don't you remember?there's no way she got notes she already put in the trash long before

hiruma already fainted. he won't be going back on the field. it's possible that deimon already played under hiruma enough to think like him. but we'll see.. right now, there are many possibilities (except deimon giving up - not gonna happen)
