The conversion doesn't take any time off the clock...

and if you mean that oujou did try for a conversoin and failed and it just wasn't shown.. makes no sense.. oujou could have just ran out the time and won easily

How?? I don't think that conversions run on time. And it would still be Deimon's possession afterwards.

Conversions don't run on time if they did the game would have been over. No matter how unrealistic Eyeshield 21 is they still usually follow the basic rules of football.

And even if they made the conversion 1 point would have put them 5 points ahead and 2 points would have put them 6 points ahead. Deimon still would have still needed a touchdown.

The Point-After Try doesn't take any time off the clock. The only thing that was kind of odd was that Deimon didn't go for two to make it a 3-point game, just prior to the final Oujou touchdown. And that could be attributed to a (rare!) mental error from Hiruma.

Moreover, people seem to forget that Eyeshield 21 is a manga about HIGH SCHOOL football.

People were complaining in the Bando match that there is no way to "Coffin Nail" a kickoff. Thats true in professional and (I think?) Collegiate football, but the rules are slightly different in HS football since the kickers aren't as accurate as they are at the higher levels.

Also when Sakuraba scored a touchdown in the Oujou-Deimon game, he scored a touchdown even though he only got one foot inbounds. Again, I think thats a HS rule that you only need one foot inbounds. At the pro and collegiate levels, you need two.

You spin me right round baby right round like a record baby, right round, round round...

hey, the manga is about Eyeshield21, right? so, the mangaka simply can't let them lose the match. That's all.
