Well the size and athleticism of the characters could be written off as Japanese idolization of foreign sports idols seeing as how they don't really have many.

so true Prince of tennis is unrealistic even for a manga.

But I would switch places between Ippo and Eyeshield

    that is all

I actually think that Eyeshield is pretty realistic. Some things like Hiruma's blackmailing abilities are complely out of this world but a lot of things make sense.

Kurita's strength: I have a cousin who is in his senior year who can lift 340 pounds. Kurita's size is nuts but his strength can make sense.

Everest Pass: It is just a pass between two people who are really tall

Devil Bat Ghost: They actually tell you how you can learn to do it.

Taki's flexibility: Out of this world unless you are a chinese contortionist. But just being able to do completely straight kicks is not that unreasonable. I used to be able to do that until I lost my flexibility.

Spear Tackle: You just run fast and tackle the opponent with lots of strength.

How Agon and Unsei are so different: Lots of twins can be really different. Maybe one is smart and one struggles. Maybe one is outgoing and one is shy. So what if one is a genius and one is not?
That whole god speed impulse thing seems a little far fetched but who knows.

Monta's catching ability: If you practice over and over and over and over and over and over for years you can probably get really good at anything. That whole catching things with his feet however is pretty far fetched.

Light speed dash: In a high schooler? Not likely even if you have been running from bullies your whole life. As a professional football player. Can happen.

Death March: Don't know. Probably not but who knows.

60 yard magmum: They even admit it is just a lie.

The different plays: Those can work in real life. They just give them fancy names. Fancy.

Thats all I am really going to mention. I'm just saying that it can happen and it is really not so farfetched. Some things are unrealistic but overall it is pretty realistic.

    POT=DBZ tennis.

I've seen a guy get knocked from the tennis court into the stands from one serve.

    Ridiculous.

Not to mention the fact that Inui's done quite a few kamehamehas.

I love PoT, but I have never agreed more with anything in my life. Then again, I've always thought of PoT as more of a fighting anime/manga then a sports anime/manga...

But yeah, I'd have to say that ES21 is a billion times more realistic than PoT-- has anyone seen the PoT movie on the boat? UNDERWATER TENNIS. Nuff said.

    Default Steroids

It's pretty realistic, just that most of the players are on steroids.
Making Sena run 4.2sec 40yr dash and Shin's "spear tackle" (his one handed tackle not a "spear" that Goldberg and Edge use in WWE) possible.
Basicly most ppl with "special" moves.

and yea, PoT is as realistic as a real life DBZ and Superheroes.

but hey, its a manga, being over the top can be a good thing.

Has anyone mentioned the fact that there hasn't been a single flag thrown in any game, even though there has been blatant cheating in several of them.

Completely unrealistic. C'mon, Gaou causes bruising by touching Kid, which is completely outrageous. Also, two high schoolers run at 4.2 speed, with pads on, when NFL players can't do the same without the extra weight. Not to mention that whenever the players on the field speak, people in the stands or sidelines can hear them...

Still, Eyeshield 21 is not as far-fetched as PoT.
