Thread: Think the series will end after the Christmas Bowl?

Even though I'd hate to see it end, cause it's such a charming title. It's probably for the best to end it after the Christmas Bowl. It's been going for almost 22 volumes now, and I assume 25+- will be the final volume count; which is quite nice.

the problem with playing college football or japan versus world is that HIruma will probably not be able to make the QB position, and that will suck.

totally agree. hiruma is the best and es21 won't be the same w/o him. by the way, i'm not exactly sure why hiruma, kurita, and musashi can't play next year. are they 3rd years or something? coz i thought they were 2nd years like mamori.

Umm, i think at Devilbat's place, the school policy is to ban 3rd years from playing again. SO there is a slight possibility that there will be a 3rd season for Hiruma and CO(thru good ole fashioned blackmail), but i just highly doubt this.

Gotta admit Hiruma plays a big role in the club, without him around, there will be no strategist available, he's the one who made up everything for the club.

This serie will end after the Christmas Bowl, IMO. I don't like this to happen, but something like this will make the manga memorable, like SLAM DUNK for example. After Slam Dunk ended just like that, it leaves me so many good memories about it. Up until now I still think it is one of the best sports manga around. Eyeshield should be made like that.

i gotta admit i hate it 2 end so short, but i rather it ended with a good ending rather than continue with a bad drag on plots and story

1llu51on, well Hiruma has to keep things stapled to the team. Otherwise how else will the team operate? Everyone will just go about doing their own stuff due to him shooting his gun in the air. And Sena, let's just say that. He'll be carrying this heavy load on him. And is not meant to handle such a task.

after all the seniors are gone, i'm pretty sure sena and monta would still want to play american football. they'll cobble together a team for sure. of course it'll definitely be less interesting (without hiruma), so the series would most likely end after the christmas bowl.

besides, wasn't hiruma's plan to reach the christmas bowl all along? after the current year, there's no reason why he would need to blackmail to stay longer.

unless they don't make it to the christmas bowl; which is highly unlikely. i haven't read the raws myself, but it just seems very... unlikely.

However the mangaka ends it, it cant be as bad as the ending of Slam Dunk. With eyeshield 21, the mangaka has the chance to end things for real. Inoue, as much as i love him, left far too much in the air by the end of Slam Dunk.
