Oh yeah, over the course of the series, they cut 5 hours worth of material. By cut, I mean completely removed, altered a scene, redid scriptwork, or changed meanings within the episode (and therefore, series).

I really recommend tracking it down for a true Eva fan, but I have no idea where my friend got it.

Have you watched the "Neon Genesis Evangelion" platinum editions?

Because a long while ago, back when I used to use edonkey for downloading files, I came across a couple of movie files that were deleted scenes of NGE. Those exact scenes were missing from the earlier releases but were later added to the platinum edition episodes.

Oh and btw, those episodes with the deleted scenes were my favorite episodes, especially the Rei III episode.
