Too bad your only interested in Shounen Harem Romance/Comedies...

There are ALOT of Romance/Comedies are great.

I can only think of School Rumble & Lovely Complex at the top of my head... Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei might not be your Cup of Tea... (it's a harem would morbid humour)

hey Dizzcity Would Ranma 1/2 be considered a Harem Hrbngr might be interested in?... ST might not have it... too lazy to check...

Oh, right... I forgot that the scanlators used the bunko (extra-large) volumes for Maison Ikkoku. 9 bunko volumes should cover the whole story, I think. And about Love Hina... don't expect a steady progression in the relationship until nearing the end. Most of the time it's mainly situational comedy stuff, though time does pass and the characters do develop. The relationship really starts to blossom mostly around the last few volumes. Likewise for Maison Ikkoku, pretty much. The endings of both totally make it worthwhile, though.

Personally, I liked Nishino better, as I think she had a stronger character... so I'm happy with the ending of Ichigo 100%. The girl I really didn't like was Satsuki... all she had was her body. But at least she redeemed herself at the end by becoming an okami.

Regarding getting manga, I always find MangaTraders to be good, though sometimes a little slow due to high traffic. Free registration is required.

Hmmm... I'm thinking about whether to recommend Salad Days to you. I personally feel that it's a must-read for any serious reader of romance manga, but it's not to everyone's tastes, being largely an anthology of short stories rather than a continuous plot. 18 volumes, completely scanlated, containing over 100 stories about all the facets of love - young love, old love, new love, love forgotten, love fulfilled, love sacrificed, love unrequited, love triumphant. Very good as a thematic, "mood" piece to read. And eventually, there also emerges a favourite couple, who get featured in quite a few stories before proceeding to the climax and ending. But I guess you should read all the other series first.

EDIT: @kniteowl: Not quite sure. I think what hrbngr is looking for is actually a relationship that progresses and develops, rather than always staying the same.

Which is why I didn't want to recommend School Rumble, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Ranma 1/2, because they're pretty much all about situational comedy, rather than real romantic development. Lovely Complex would fit, though (but it's not shounen).

    ok,
I just finished Suzuka, which was enjoyable, but i didnt really like the main female character Suzuka so much. It was a bit lighter on the ecchi moments, but that was ok.

I guess a series does not need to be ecchi/fanservice, but waiting till the end of a series for the couple to just kiss is not so rewarding, no?

    dizzcity,

thanks for the add'l info, i have checked out Salad Days but not actually d/l'd it yet. I have also been reading a bunch of reviews on mangas from the Top 5 romance manga/anime thread here and will probably read some straight romance/comedy titles, though i do like the harem setups--or even reverse harem would be ok, since having the other love interests seems like the best way to extend a normal romantic conclusion...vs say always just getting interrupted by phone calls, friends, power going out, ie. the usual situational methods.

    Kniteowl,
thanks for your recommendations, im not particularly looking for shonen titles, just romance manga w/?adult? situations? I did use the word ecchi but i'm not actually certain that I am stating this correctly. I have only started reading manga recently, so i am just starting to be familiar w/the language used to describe what category a certain manga fits in.

All that's been mentioned so far is good but one that hasn't been mentioned yet is Video girl AI which is an awesome sci-fi-ish manga, probably wont seem as original after reading all those others but an entertaining and dramatic story none the less. if I were to name my top 3 romance manga's I would choose:
    1. I's (probably the most gripping romance manga I have read)
    2. Love Hina (more comedy then romance I think {at least until the end} which is why it gets a step up from)
    3. Video Girl AI ( entertaining, dramatic, and the characters are really enjoyable {unlike ichigo %100} with a pretty god ending)

    "Grapes and grapes!"
