Hey, I've been looking for some good anime movies lately. Not anything related to a series, but an independent production. Anything you've really enjoyed, and feel like sharing, feel free to do so. Thanks.

Any particular genre?
My Neighbor Totoro
Personally I think if you haven't watched this movie before, you've never seen anime!
No genre in particular, just something you've seen and really liked.
Some anime movies I can remember.
-Nausicaä (I gues it is well known, and I like the manga better, but still...)
-Saber Marionette R (Not a Film but with 3 episodes as long as a film, it´s funny, ugly and senseless)
-Jin Roh (If you like dark stuff)
-the two new Appleseed movies (good action scifi stuff. titles? well...)
In that case, pretty much anything by Studio Ghibli. The big-name ones ought to keep you busy for a while: Spirited Away, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Grave of the Fireflies, Kiki's Delivery Service, Laputa/Castle in the Sky, Porco Russo, et cet.
^ack beat me to it. >_<
well if your a fan of a certain popular series. they tend to have movies as well ^^
Hmm how about Nadesico Prince of Darkness. You'll like it more if you've seen the series but I think it's still good even if you haven't. My friend enjoyed it before he even saw the series but it kinda spoiled the ending of the series for him.
Blood: Nice bloody movie. ^_______^
Akira: another bloody movie but it has a deeper story compared to Blood.
Macross: if you've seen the macross tv series (first series) then I recommend that you watch this one.
definitely try toki o kakeru shoujo/the girl who leapt through time (nice and touching story).
sword of stranger ( good action and you might enjoy it if you like swords fight)
Makoto Shinkai's animes (if you like slow-paced romantic story)
paprika ( surrealistic type of anime but good animation indeed)
Brave story ( an adventure anime ).
Oh and though I seem to be the only one, I liked "Darkside Blues"
Wow. Good turnout. Thanks. (That doesn't mean stop posting!)
