    Default Recommendation for Great/complex storyline

I am amazed with storyline such as One Piece (pirates, with unbelievable adventure and creative characters), Death Note (holding peoples' live with a note book!), Bleach (12 Squad of shinigami blows me away ^_^), D.Gray Man(the concept of innocence) and Hunter X Hunter (the greed island is a masterpiece!). IMO, they are unique, mature, and well laid out storyline - and they are rather complex too.

I like manga like Hikaru No Go, Bleach, Air Gear, Prince of tennis, Yakitate Japan, Flame of Recca etc but the storyline is much more straightforward. They are basically aiming for one thing/dream.

No offence and don't get me wrong. Hikaru no go, One Piece, yakitate japan and bleach are my all time favourite manga. I just love good stories and I'm looking for more.

Can you guys recommend manga that is at par or better than the mentioned titles above?

If it goes with complex plot shounen or sport..hmm.. Neon Genesis Evangelion, Code Geass : Rebelion of Lelouch (anime), Fullmetal Alchemist, Black Cat... try those first.

20th Century Boys I'll post more later but start with that...its Unbelievable.

Edit: I forgot to mention though, Its Seinen so its going to be something a little different then you're used to. A Bit More Mature i guess.

Death note, Rai, Monster, Is'', X, chobbit, dragon knight (manga not the stupid hentai anime one),

I think the most complex is: xxxHolic to enjoy it fully you have to read it along with Tsubasa reverse chronicle and sakura card captor ^^, since they are connected.

I can't exactly claim the plot of Yotsuba&! is complex. But the humor is.

Try Adachi's stuff -- Rough, Touch, H2, for a start. For something very different, 20th Century Boys, though it's not exactly an adventure/goal-oriented plot. If you don't mind complex shoujo romance complexities, there's always Kodocha and Marmalade Boy.
Today is always the most enjoyable day. Just ask Yotsuba.

    I"s, complex? *eyeroll*

I'd recommend Angel Sanctuary, Tsubasa Chronicle, Fruits Basket, xxxHOLiC, Fullmoon wo Sagashite, Maison Ikkoku, Nana, Elfen Lied, Manhole... Berserk and Gantz have their moments. And yes, I know that Angel Sanctuary, Furubasu and Fullmoon (and Nana?) are shoujo. That's not the point. They're all complex. Tsubasa especially makes me wonder at how amazingly done it is.

    Shaman King.

And Bitter Virgin because I am to Bitter Virgin as Cooler is to Berserk.

You say you want great/complex story lines yet you mention Bleach, Air Gear & PoT as some examples of what you like. It's mind-boggling, really.

To be honest, suggesting mangas for people who have pubic hair would be an absolute waste on you. Stick to reading bogus shit like Naruto. That's as great and complex as you should get.

Well, in all fairness, he is asking for recommendations. He has also recognised the fact that the titles he likes are quite straight forward. So, I don't think its that bad.

Ouch. GGpX, that was harsh, man (or girl).

So let's see... tbh I haven't read a lot of complex stuff lately, but Blade of the Immortal is a pretty decent find. Berserk or RK have their moments if you're into shounen/seinen stuff. While it often descends into infantile (imo) jokes, FMA is also worth your time.
