Whoops -- missed one. Kimi wa Pet is a quirky josei romance licensed as Tramps Like Us. Good one -- recommended to anyone who likes Nana.

wow, i can't believe they made Kingdom Hearts into a manga... is it the same story ? Law of Ueki was a good anime (or so my friend tells me). Anyone checked out those two ?

Supposedly the first Kingdom Hearts manga follows the game pretty closely -- and, unusally, was published in left-to-right format in Japan.

Oh, here's a sleeper in read. Hadn't noticed at first that Kiss is by Matsumoto Tomo, the mangaka of the wonderfully quirky Beauty is the Beast and the odd Eikaiwa School Wars. This one's a student-teacher romance -- piano teacher, in this case -- but handles the emotions with off-kilter subtlty. Not as dementedly brill as Beauty is the Beast, but good.

It should probably be mentioned that Legend of Lemnear is a classic of the genre of sword-n-sourcery with boobies. The writing is no better than average, and that genre is not exactly known for its quality storytelling, but it DOES deliver the boobies, in better-than-average both quantity and quality -- Urushihara is a master, and not only knows how to draw breasts of nearly human proportions, but really cute girls.

I note that several more chapters have been scanned than we have here.

Last Fantasy is quite a good manhaw (IF you are looking for comedy).

It's about 2 guys, a dropout wizard and a (dumb) swordsman, they go around taking adventures and half of the time are on the verge of starvation because of the stupidy of the swordsman.

It's hilarious how you expect the chapter to end in very traditional way and then bam! Something unexpected happens.

If you're into comedy + medieval you'll pretty much like this. Too bad that i can't get a hold of who's scanlating this.
    Greetings earthlings.

Cool. The next time I'm in the mood for a Big Dumb Fantasy, I'll check it out.

Backing up a post, speaking of boobies, Kirara turns out to be an early series by the mangaka of Boku no Futatsu no Tsubasa and Kagome Kagome. Nowhere near as interesting as either, alas, but it does have more boobies. And skanky clothing. Mostly worn (or, often, not worn) by the ghost of a woman who's haunting the bedroom of her fiance eight years before she dies on the way to their wedding. And who is less interested in helping him meet her younger self as in keeping him for herself. Scans are, fwiw, complete at 6 volumes.

Annnnd -- it's another round in red. Anyone see any must-reads?

I confess nothing jumps out at me, though I can disrecommend Magikano as being a pervtastic lolicon magic-girl harem series, with a large topping of dumb.

Lucky Star is here! Need I say more? In the same vein as schoolgirl series like Azumanga Daioh, Lucky Star follows a group of girls as they talk about their lives, interests, and little quirks that make people wonder. 4-koma slice of life manga.

Mahoraba is an enjoyable read for any devotees of romantic comedies. It tells the story of Shiratori Ryuji, an art college student, and his growing love for the high-school manager of his apartment complex, Aoba Kozue. Unfortunately, Kozue has MPD (multiple personality disorder), which means she changes into various different personalities when she become emotionally stressed. Can Shiratori's relationship with Kozue still prevail in the face of her many weirdnesses, and will she ever be healed? A gentle, sweet romance with moderate doses of silly comedy. Scanlators should be finishing off the series pretty soon.

And ooh, ooh! I just saw that Mahou tsukai ni taisetsu na Koto has been added! Now, possibly I'm being nostalgic because it was one of the first shoujo slice-of-life dramas that I read, but I do think it has some potential as a simple, gentle story. About a young girl who is apprenticed to a member of the guild of mages, and starts learning about what purpose magic is for, and the values/ethics that guide practictioners of magic. Set in modern-day countryside Japan, but with a twist of fantasy. The closest equivalent I can think of is Kamichu. A short, completely-scanlated series, with many coloured pages.
