What do you mean by "bittorrent hates me"? Can you not use BT? There are other great clients out there (like BitComet or Azureus [sp?]), and it's a really helpful thing to have.

A lot of anime subbing groups have IRC channels, so you could find the IRC channel on Baka-Updates (http://www.baka-updates.com/) and download anime from there.

There isn't one specific site for getting anime, though. You have to find the site, tracker, or channel of the group doing the series you want.

I've got a wireless router and it doesn't work too badly. It's a bit slow, but I *am* using the original client and it's not too great - but it's not as bad as you probably think. ^_^

Also, in my experience, using BT is just a matter of saving the file to a certain place and leaving the window open for a while. It's pretty simple - I think there's more information in the BT subforum of this website. Not complicated, though.

Realitylapse.com is a pretty good place to download anime. It's only in real media format though, so the file sizes are usually pretty small.

... when you say watch online, do you mean stream or download. If you want stream, then www.youtube.com is always the way to go I find. But if you want download, then it depends on how large you want your files to be.

RMVB files are small but you need the codecs for it if you don't like real player. Good site is www.naruto-bunshin.com but you need to register and they use megaupload. If you like the classic avi, then use google.
