the latest chapter is actually 599. and it's quite exciting. it looks like the story is *finally* re-focusing on BO. i'm hoping this wraps up the series, though i'm almost 100% this is just another "let's push the main plot a little, then derail the story and continue it another time".

Does this story reaches any conclusion ?? I'm only at volume 17 and I'm not really sure if I should continue to read this stuff

Not a conclusion, but it becomes more plot-focused over time. In fact, you're just one volume away from a major event, so definitely read on.

I also think the latest chapters are very exciting and worth catching up to. I think the whole story's worth reading, the amount of filler isn't quite as bad as it's made out to be... certainly the anime is much worse in that respect.

i'm glad i don't keep track of the anime then =P but seriously, some of the cases are fairly similar (though i must admit those are few and far in between). it'd be nice if the current BO arc will develop the central plot a lot farther than the previous ones, possibly come up with an action plan for a counterattack ?

well they seem to be up for another confrontation with the BO, I'm hoping one of them gets caught. Also with kir waking up, I'm thinking either she is actually eisuke's sister who was brainwashed(since i think the nurse said that eisuke never received a blood transfusion or something like that) or she's gonna help eisuke find his sister cos she doesn't really seem all that evil to me and she seems to have a soft spot for kids
