Thread: Detective Conan Background Info

Being quite a fan of DC myself, I decided to compile a short [hopefully] introduction:

Detective Conan is a detective mystery manga created by Goushou Aoyama in 1994. Both the manga and anime are still ongoing. As far as I know, there are 56+ volumes and 400+ episodes released. As of 2006, there have been ten movies released, the latest being The Private Eyes’ Requiem. The eleventh movie, Jolly Roger in the Deep Azure, is scheduled to be released April 2007.

Story: One day, 17-year old genius and high school detective, Kudo Shinichi, and his girlfriend Mouri Ran visit an amusement park. During their visit, Kudo encounters a mysterious criminal organization known just as the “Black Organization.” After witnessing the organization’s operations, Kudo is force fed a drug, APTX4869. Kudo awakens to find his body shrunk to the size of an elementary school boy’s body. In order to get information on the Black Organization, Kudo takes up the name Edogawa Conan. Taking up residence in the Mouri household, Conan solves cases for Ran’s father, Mouri Kogorou, a horrible detective, in hopes that he will one day encounter the Black Organization…

Main Characters:
Agasa Hiroshi – Kudo Shinichi’s next door neighbor and inventor. He created Conan’s tranquilizer watch, voice-changing bow tie, tracking glasses, etc
Haibara Ai/Miyano Shiho – Conan’s classmate, developer of the APTX4869 drug and former member of the Black Organization
Hattori Heiji – “Detective of the West,” friend/rival of Conan
Kaito Kid – the Phantom Thief/International Thief 1412 and Conan/Shinichi's "friendly" rival XD
Kisaki Eri- Mouri Ran’s mother, lawyer
Kojima Genta – a powerful and heavy boy, Conan’s classmate and a member of the Detective Boys
Kudo Shinichi/Edogawa Conan – genius detective
Kudo Yukiko – Kudo Shinichi’s mother, famous actress
Kudo Yusaku – Kucho Shinichi’s father, famous novelist
Megure Juzo – a detective and member of the local police force who used to work with Mouri Kogorou
Mitsuhiko Tsuburaya – an intelligent boy for his age, Conan’s classmate and member of the Detective Boys
Mouri Ran – Kudo Shinichi’s childhood friend and captain of her school’s karate team
Mouri Kogorou – incompetent private detective who is obsessed with Yoko Okino
Sonoko Suzuki – Friend of Mouri Ran, Kudo Shinichi’s classmate
Tomaya Kazuha – Hattori Heiji’s childhood friend
Yoshida Ayumi – one of Conan’s classmates and has a crush on Conan
