Thread: detective conan for newbies

since this is the very first thread here in detective conan i think i should start out with a summary of the story and i hope you guys will forgive me if you are to say that im wasting my breath and time talking about it but like i said in the title its for newbies so i hope you bear with me. (although i highly doubt anyone would be a newbie if you were born before 1996 which was the release of the anime)

Detective conan is an old manga but is still going on up to now... i find it a great read since it leaves you guessing who the criminal is/are... its a story about an high school detective named shinichi kudo who got shrunk by an unknown medicine while snooping around by an unknown organisation... now he only looks like a little kid but actually has a brain of a 17 year old. so now he is trying to find the antidote to cure himself and bring his old body back without anyone noticing.

all in all i like this manga its great fun but you might get tired of the art since the people tend to look like each other more often as you go along the story most likely the criminals will look like people from past cases but still i enjoyed reading it and still reading since its not finish yet after more than 10 years now.

i like the series. i just with the mangaka would accelerate the BO (black organization) arc, which is the main arc. seriously, everything besides that arc feels like filler. =\ i'm glad we're back on track with the BO arc in the most recent chapters.

actually, i also happen to like chapters with Kid. he's a pretty cool thief.

some of the cases are actually quiet ingenous and it's suprising that mangaka still has enough ideas to continue the series

I like this manga too.. but to be honest i fell there is too many of
side story that has no connection with the BO. I really want more
story that has connection with the BO.

Btw, i like Kid too. He looks cool for me.

This manga is nice. But it would be nicer if the case-solving is just as short as 2-3 chapter. I really hope that it would take longer. Yes, some of the case-solving are quite long, but most of them are just some what short ones.

The cases that I love the most is the fight with Black Organization.

I would like to read this mangá and now I can. Very nice for detectives fans! But very loongg...

i think that's the most annoying thing in DC--i'm always at whether a character appeared in another case or not.

LOL... Actually I got tired of reading the cases. If the cases can last for a whole volume, I think it would be a lot more interesting. The mangaka should use more heavyweigh cases instead of some meaningless short ones. More on the Dark Organization would be better.
