Thread: my unanswered questions.... possible spoilers

1. are there other gods besides deathgods?
2.what is the true nature of the king of the death gods?
3. how are shinigami born?
4. how was the king of the death gods born?
5. If somehow, all the deathgods including the king were destroyed, what exactly would happen?
5. in the begining of the show ryuuk mentioned "I'm going to the human world"
this leads me to beleive there are other "nonhuman" worlds in the universe other than the world of the death gods. how many, and what do they consist of.
6.what is the nature of mu? what is the nature of nothingness?
7. the police chief was said to have "died happy". what significance does a happy death have as opposed to a death that is unhappy?
8. in the deathnote universe does the concept of sin exist?
9. is the number of deathgods finite?
11. if the number of deathgods is finite, is there a backup mechanism in case they expire?
12. is every death caused by a deathnote?
13. are there other powers posessed by the king of the deathgods that can cause death?

Very nice questions.. But.. like 80% of the questions can only be answered through speculations, since the manga does not give an answer to them..
And yes.. you phail..

how should we know?
ppl try to answer to some of those questions from the day they are born . (well.....almost..)
so what the heck..?

I'll try to answer every question basing myself on the manga only.

1. Obviously, Kira!
2. Well, he is fat and obviously not good looking.
3. Doesn't tell.
4. Doesn't tell either.
5. Again, doesn't tell.
5. Well this is a tough one. Doesn't tell.
7. As far as I remember...doesn't tell.
8. Well obviously one is without suffering and the other is, suffering.
9. Doesn't tell, as it doesn't focus on a religious point of view (other from the God thing). It is viewed in terms of justice and rightouness and wrong. However we could assume the religious citizens would have one, but it is not important.
10. Doesn't tell, why would this be important?
11. Well that would mean for every one of them to die. Oh and yeah there is this huge machine that bumbs out this nasty looking creatures.
12. No.
13. Doesn't tell.
14. Mmm, yeah well, it doesn't tell again.

well the only one that the manga actually answers out of all the ones you made is question 12...
12- the answer is NO! Of course not... why other reason would there be for people having their life-spans over their heads... if no shinigami kills them with their death note before their time runs out they'll just die for X reason... the death note is a way for shinigamis to sort of steal life from the humans who still have more remaining time to live. So it's not like it's the shinigamis job to kill humans, it's sort of their means of surviving like food or drink would be for humans.
Well at least that's the idea I got from the manga... and to all the other questions it doesn't say cause nobody really knows so you can imagine pretty much wathever you like...

Well, Light did remark that even if the gods of death were not on his side the other God (i.e. the God who created the universe) sure seemed to be.

They aren't. They always existed for the natural balance of the universe. Next.

That would never happen. Not all shinigami are as stupid and manipulable as Rem and Jealous. (Although if anyone could come up with a way, Light could)

Why does this make you think there are other worlds? That's like if we humans talked about a shinigami world and somehow you interpreted it to mean there were other worlds. Huh?

Nothingness is just what it sounds like, the absence of anything. Nothingness cannot be described any other way because it has no characteristics. When humans die in the story they simply cease to exist.

None whatsoever.

8. in the deathnote universe does the concept of sin exist?

Well Light talks a lot about justice and the worthlessness of criminals but I don't know if sin is ever mentioned.

They won't expire. (see above)

12. is every death caused by a deathnote?

Apparently not. Because humans have a preset time of death as seen with the shinigami eyes. Ordinarily a Death Note is used to kill a human before that natural death occurs so that the shinigami may extend its life.

13. are there other powers posessed by the king of the deathgods that can cause death?

Dunno. The additional rules between chapters said something about "killing by a means other than Death Note is strictly forbidden" but I don't really consider those rules to be canon because some of them contradict the story.

14. if all the beings from all the worlds die and go to mu? what will become of the universe? what will become of mu?

Again, won't happen.

1- As someone else mentioned, the God who created the Universe.
2-Apparently he is some sort of omniscient Shinigami who can make Death Notes and is more powerful than the other Shinigami.
3- They were created by God.
4- Same as above.
5- That would never happen.
6- Nothingness basically means you don't exist anymore. The same way you were like before being born, nothing.
7- I think it means that he went to Heaven. Yes, I believe there are Heaven and Hell in the DN universe and the last chapter was just inconsistency on part of the author.
8- Dunno.
9- We have no idea but in one chapter, a Shinigami mentions that "humans are not like us, there are billions and billions of them".
10- It won't happen. If it does, God will just create more.
11- No, that is why humans have natural lifespans.
12- He seems to have more powers than regular Shinigami. But we can only speculate.
13- I still believe that only the Death Note users go to MU. Anyway that would not happen.
