[SPOILER]Movie Ending was sadder than I thought
Spoiler for the two movies:
Anyway, at the end, when Light died, Ryuk was all like "Those who use the death note go to neither heaven or hell, they just have nothing" or sometihng of that sort, as if that's a terrible thing worse than hell. They made it seem so bad as a punishment for Light.
Then, L dies and they make that death seem happy. But L also used the death note, so he will experience the same nothingness. Please tell me I just misunderstood/watched a mistranslated version of the movie, and L doesn't experience the same fate as Light!
They experience the same fate.
Apparently, in the rules, it says all humans do, whether they use the note or not. It was a bit of a cop out.
"All humans, without exception, eventually die."
"After they die, the place they go is Mu (Nothingsness)."
- Deathnote Rules
Its an inevitable circumstance... not only in Deathnote but also in reality.
Though, one things bothers me about the 2nd Movie.
"You will not die if you write your own name in the Deathnote."
- Deathnote Chapter 0
I dont unterstand why L died when he wrote his own name in the Deathnote...
I didn't know about that rule. Well, the movie changed quite a lot, so I guess they changed the death note rules.
I liked the movie ending better than the anime ending. Although I didn't really realize that when L dropped the chocolate he died until the second time I watched it XD.
But the rules still apply to the main story of Deathnote.
Maybe because its a movie and plays outside the main story the rules are bend for it... but still, I personally think that the Deathnote rules should be the constant in the series.
And the main story didnt violate the "Write your own name"-rule...
The only thing that could be happened in the Movie2 could be that Watari wrote L's name... but I dont think so, I think he would had done the donkeywork himself and wouldnt wanna involve Watari in it.
Chapter 0 was just a test-run to see how people liked thge general idea. Nothing in it applies to anything else in the series.
I never got passed half way into the second movie due to the actualy translation being so horrid, so this is the first time I've heard of L actually using the note.
A little OOC, japan.
