Hello,
I didnt see any thread about that yet :
So which one do you prefer ? the manga or the anime ?
The anime is about to end in like what ? 5 episodes ?
I think there is enough content to compare them![]()

To be honost i like them both since the anime sticks to the manga
I'm still with the anime, waiting for it to end.
After that I will read the hole manga again and look out for stuff that wasnt mentioned in the anime already.
I dont know, the anime has this kind of style every time when Light wins somewhere, that you just have to jump up and giggle.
Maybe its because of the timesetting, the motion capture speed and the musical themes played in the background that make the anime so much more dramatical than the manga.
They are both great.
The manga obviously is because it made the anime possible. Without the story in the manga there could be no anime.
And the story, mindgames and battle of wits are very good in the manga.
Easy to understand and follow.
But the anime did a great job too. It's one of the best anime I've ever seen.
The color, drawing, motion, music. It all fits perfectly.
Because of that and the fact that they just changed minor facts from the manga, makes it a must see.
"For Feanor was made the mightiest in all parts of body and mind, in valour, in endurance, in beauty, in understanding, in skill, in strength and subtlety alike, of all the Children of Illuvatar, and a bright flame was in him"
The manga is so much better.
The anime did away with the moral questions the manga raised...it's far less interesting.

The manga is better, but by a small margin. The anime has had some nice little touches and a good soundtrack, but a fair share of content has been cut in the transition from manga to anime. Things are better fleshed out in the manga.
This isn't really true at all. Just one little scene that's cut from the first chapter, and all the moral questions have been done away with? Come on now, it isn't like Light's moral struggle was all that pronounced to begin with in the manga, and it is more or less represented in the anime.

Manga will always be the best for me!!! XD Sometimes the lame way Light acts in the Anime just doesn't seem good!! XD

Yeah I'm with scriver here. I was a bit annoyed at the start of the anime that they dropped it out, but I quickly got over it. Aside from the hectic pacing, I think the anime's doing a rocking job of adapting the series.
Still, I'd have to say the manga wins out on comparison. They're both good though.

well first of all i'm just grateful that the anime STICKS to the manga, unlike so many others *cough FMA cough*
Manga is a bit more detailed and fleshed out, but it's great to see the story being told in action tho.
I especially liked in the first episode how every time Light wrote a name with emphasis, a person was flung out and killed. It made it look like he was actually killing them. And the camera shakes. I like camera shakes. And the voices are also pretty good, too ^^
you gotta admit, with the music and all, it's one of the better animes. It's not drawn out like some others (naruto) and it sticks to the plot.
So my judgement would be that they are BOTH very great.
