Light-Probably because he studies alot.
L- what I hard on a forum is that has something like neuron connectivity and the more neurons you have connected the more creative you can think.

you are not smart because you study a lot.

i know many people that study a lot and they know the things they need to know in school, but they dont know anything else but the things they learned.
they cant count 1+1 (literly speaking)

i guess Light is just geneticly superior. that takes the greatest part in why someone is inteligent.

its the same with l,n and m
they were on a school for giftet people, so they werent just well educated(of cause not at this age), they just fullfilled the criterias to be in a giftet school

There's an arguement people don't like to hear. That there are people who are inherently better than others in one way or the other. People who can do math equations in minutes, using only their minds and voice, that I couldn't do in an hour with the correct text book, a calculator, and a box full of sharpened pencils. Yet we take the same tests.

There are people who can deduce things thoroughly while those around them may be staring at the same clue until they give up.

No, it would seem to be genetic and early age experiences that lead to that kind of ability; not studying usually.

Studying a lot has nothing to do with true intelligence. Some people are just naturally more intelligent than others.

Agreed. While studying can refine intellegence it can't make you smarter. If you don't have the intellegence to understand something no amount of studying will make any difference.

True intelligence comes from Wisdom through Observation.

Having to study more than others will not give you true intelligence ;P

The smartest people don't tend to be the ones who spend hours studying...they're the ones who don't study at all and still get higher grades than the obsessive studiers.

Unless of course those people are lazy and don't really try their hardest.

Cooler : Not higher grades, i would say decent grades >.< ..
Wisdom --> Knowing how to deal with things that never happened before in his/her experience
Knowledge --> the ability to deal with the same things again in the future

but wasn't neuron connectivity has nothing to do with intelligence. Shouldn't it involved our brain part something like Amigdala or something other than that ??? Besides the neuron in our brains interact with awesome way regardless of the intelligence ( sorry, can't describe it in English >.< )

Intelligence does seem to be genetic, but it can be affected by outside factors - a brain injury, or apparently exercise. (There were a lot of reasons... I read it in Newsweek, okay?!) Studying wouldn't help Raito and L to think the way they do, of course.

(I think the amygdala has more to do with emotions...? I might've forgotten; it was either mentioned a lot in the book on emotions or on right-brain disorders. ^^;; Could be intelligence, I guess. There's a lot we don't know about the brain.)
