Thread: Well, episode 25 is out...

No fansub yet, but I'm downloading the raw. This is the episode in which L finally dies. Can't wait to see how they handle it.

Anyways, this can serve as a discussion thread for episode 25 and onwards, I suppose.

Came around alot sooner that I expected though. This series won't make it past 50 eps at this rate...

Well the fansub by Kuro-Hana is out now, and I'm kinda dissapointed.

Rem and L's final thoughts were cut out, who knows why. And the red hue seemed out of place to me. I get that it was supposedly back up lights due to a power outage, but it just seemed off to me.

I'm dissapointed too, I have just seen the episode. Some extras scenes had been added, Rem and L's final thoughts cut out. And as for the extra scenes, it looks like more a fanservice for fangirls than anything else. Okay... Check the manga, that's definitly better.

so it wasn't just me who thought they added in the semi-yaoi part?

I found it cool to be honost and does anyone know the name of the song that misa is singing?

Oh really? For some reason I thought I remembered hearing 67 eps or something... well that makes more sense.

And yeah, I have to agree that I think this version of events had less impact. It wasn't badly done, but.... not as powerful, I don't think. And that yaoi bit... I can get that they were trying to put across the friendship thing, but it was a bit over the top.

Misa's song was a pretty cool touch though

Yep. that's a clearly fanservice added by Madhouse. The scene doesn't even exist in the manga (and I add that in the manga, there are no all these friendship thing between Light and L). Madhouse add the foot scene for the crazy yaoi fangirls. They can still say that it is a symbolism and shit with the Jesus/Juda's scene, but it is just an excuse for fanservice.

I think you're wrong, many people finally agreed that madhouse uses this symbolism as an excuse for fanservice. The LxLight thing is big for fangirls and madhouse give them that shit. You can still act like if you don't see fanservice tho.

No offense, I'm not here for begin a war about a "symbolic?/fanservice ?" thing, so stay calm just 2 minutes. If it was only a symbolic scene, I would have praise Madhouse, but I have some doubt about the sincerity of it.
