The one thing I hope is that they keep it more elementish true to the Japanese Version and not try to revert the whole thing into a six-part horror story. Because, frankly, I find Death Note to be kind of like Harry Potter-ish, meaning that it's dark, but not the type where blood and guts should be added in the English Adaptation.
errr.....but the whole thing happened in japanese >.> if they turn it out to be somewhere else...wouldnt it be weird? furher kira action based on jap culture...
I just hope they don't pull a Ring and add random crap to the story, as well as changing it setting (or did they? I've seen Ringu about six times, so I don't remember how the remake is). Then again, they've gotten better at using original settings - and considering that part of it takes place in the US, they can't change it to an American setting without really screwing up the story (more than possible).
Kira sounds like killer anyway (in fact, it's the Engrish word for killer); just get the person to say it with a really heavy accent. XD
the more we discuss..the more i dun want to see this remake movie :chill:
Hmm... I still don't understand what's the point of a remake. Why not just show the original (same with Ring and Grudge)
I predict it will not be as good as the original storyline. On a side note, they should make Gantz movies once the series ends. It's much more adaptable.
they shouldn't remake the movie just make it in english. maybe make the lips sync with the english words.

Luke picks it up, skeptical of course ("Is this some kind of sick joke?" he asks out loud so the viewers know that he is skeptical), but decides to try it out anyway. A brief flashback: Luke remembers the time when the famous football player Apple Juice Sampson got acquitted from murdering his wife and her supposed lover. So he writes Apple Juice's name down.
And the rest basically mimics the original Japanese movie with the following changes:
1) Shiori is now "Sandy."
2) L is no longer L, but "Agent L" to make sure the audience knows he's a good guy.
3) Misa Misa won't show up 'til the sequel (again, keeping the attention-deficit disorder to a minimum).
4) Luke doesn't live at home with his mom and sister--so American viewers won't perceive him a loser.
I'm looking forward to it (also, American remakes usually give incentive for the Japanese original with subtitles...so Death Note may finally come out in properly-subbed English!)
Well, that could actually get L away from looking only japanese. I still have the elitist twitch in my eye when I see the not-so-google-eyed L in the Live Action movie.
But more than that I fear it would fail.
