    Default how did you expect DN to end?

    well i didn't expect death note to end this way especially Light's death..

    what expected was that Light would give up the death note in any way

    and ends up forgetting everythin ...

    and Ryuuku ends up eatin apples in the shinigami world

    I expected Near to die and Light to take over the world.

    Maybe marry Misa or something. Make a totalitarian government.

    Then have another manga set in that world trying to overthrow the Kira regime.

    I expected a better ending. Death note isn't predictable, so I didn't expect anything, except for a clever ending. So I was... surprised by the ending's predictability and simplicity. Not that the outcome was lame (though I was rooting for Light), but the way it came to it was.

    I was expecting the ending to wrap things up better, too. And I wanted Matsu to end up with Sayu! ;_;

    lolz. Amen.

    Anywho, the ending wasn't exactly the greatest, although in my opinion it wasn't a very good one. Light wouldn't have died so easily. But whatever, I can't put my thoughts into coherent words, so I'll let someone else argue this point.

    I was hoping that L would finally make his appearance in the warehouse and tell Light that Rem didn't kill him, that she just killed Watari and he faked his death to prevent Kira from killing him. All those years he's been manipulating the SPK's actions and stuff, without revealing his identity to anyone but Jim Morrison, an acquaintance of his he met during his holyday in Africa (also the supposedly late singer of The Doors). Then he shoots Light in the pancreas, kicks Near's ass, brings Mello back to life and watches how the police arrive to arrest Light as he escapes with Misa (his accomplice after being told Light was only using her) in a silver Porsche.

    I disagree. There were some points in DN I could guess what was going to happen. Usually it was like the chapter before, but I was still able to figure stuff out.

    I knew the ending from book one, which is why I didn't like book one. Light turning into a megalomaniac and being killed by Ryuk was exactly how I figured it would happen. I just didn't realize that he would become so completely blind with power and obesessed with his victory to where he would make such careless mistakes in the end. i thought he would make some sort of 2nd way to contact Mikami incase something would happened to Takada. And the whole thing where he basically outed himself to Near right before Near died...that pissed me off. Light isn't my favorite character, but I always thought he would be smarter than that. Light losing it at the end was priceless though. I was all like "Ha! that is what you get you big freak!" Anyway as far as the question goes, yes I knew Light would have a god complex and would be killed in the end by Ryuk. I just always expected L to out him with substantial proof. I never saw the whole Near/Mello thing coming.

    hm.. i expected Light to die, just before Light really died at the hands of Ryuuku, but during the 40 seconds after Ryuku write his name, i was expecting that 'L' ghost was there, and said are you having fun, this is what you get for killing all those people, enjoy ur days in emptiness.. and then they tell us a bit about what's happening with Misa.. does Misa even know that Light is dead?

    I expected a decent ending.

    I was severely let down.

    I expected evil to conquer over good. Why must they crush my hopes and dreams, why?!
