Meanings/Significance in the names of Innocence and Characters
I think that the names of the Innocences (is that right) and characters in D.Gray-man are important and interesting to discuss so I started this thread. I haven't read any threads in Stoptazmo about it so I started this. Pardon me if this thread is just a repetition:
So here it goes:
-Bookman: The most obvious reason behind this title I can think of is the fact that Bookmen record history. They should have no biases so they are given a name that signifies their task.
-Allen Walker: Same as Johnny Walker: "Keep Walking."
-Road Camelot: Camelot was a place of chivalry, knights, kings and magic in Arturian mythology. Mythology--->fantasy--->dreams. Road=the Dreams of Noah
-LAVI: Roman numerals: L means 50, V (inverted A) means 5, VI means 6. L+V-VI = 50+5-6 = 49. LAVI is the 49th Bookman.
-Arystar Krory/ Aleister Crowley: Aleister Crowley was a famous occultist from England. Occult--->Vampires
-Crowned Clown: Reference to the Joey and Auguste from wikipedia: "Joey, the Auguste and the ringmaster In clown duos, Clowns often rely on the Joey & Auguste framework, or Manipulator/Victim. The Joey & Auguste Framework is often used widely in such comic works as Looney Tunes. Simply put, the two clowns, who for whatever reason are competing for survival, desperately rely on each other; without each other, they live a meaningless, and perhaps even more perilous adventure. For example, when Sylvester finally catches Tweety Bird (or thinks he does) he becomes so ridden with guilt that he nearly commits suicide." The Millenium Earl makes akuma to achieve his goal. The purpose of Allen's life is to save akuma. Allen has to defeat the Earl, but he will loose his purpose if he does.
----
1)on a side note, does anyone know the name of LAVI's Innocence? Is it Little Hammer Big Hammer?
2) Other than artistic reasons, the Earl might be shaped as an egg because of the Egg Register in England, where clowns get their faces painted on eggs to serve as a "copyright" of their face paint (again, from Wikipedia)

Yeah, now that I think about it, the Road thing is farfetched.
Thanks for the added info.
