D.Gray-Man Chapter 186 - Attack of the Fantards

Raw is out.

I was so excited for this chapter, and then it kinda sucks. Sure, we get to hear about Kanda (though that was the subject of spoilers, so... not actually super new to those of us who read them), and Fou returns (except I'm no big fan of Fou, so whatever), but we also get mauled by the fantards that are Roufa and Rikei. And, um, ew.

Not a very good chapter to start a hiatus after.

I kinda liked this one. Rikei's pretty boring, but I'm beginning to like Lou Fa. She's looking better these days, too (as is Lenalee, I'm sure you noticed). In fact, I don't know if it's the scan, but this whole chapter really seemed to emphasise a different art style.

It's cool that we're about to get some background on Kanda - that's something that's been in the background the whole damn time!

But is it just me or does it feel a bit clumsy, the way it's been introduced? Like she had an idea, but then the hiatus kinda messed with her, and when she restarted, she felt like she just needed to hurry up and get to this point?

And yay. More hiatus \(^0^)/

Chap so-so. A little info about Kanda. Lou-fa (or Roufa, don't know which is correct) and Rikei, like Digi already said, acting like fantards (Maybe the two of them actually become a couple in the end). And one more hiatus u.u

Whatever is the reason (health or plagiarization charges), I wish the best to Hoshino-sensei, and pray for a fast return ^^

Ps.: Lenalee is back again and, for the cliff hanger, we can expect that she'll be for a couple of chaps *.*
Ps2.: It seems that D Gray will continue in a very near future, if we take the message from 186's the last page for true

So Kanda is artificially made? Meh,it´s 2 am here and I´m sleepy so who knows what I understood there *lol

I knew Kanda would still be able to see the flower, but not a field of them. I wonder what that means apart from dilusion.

The art style actually wasn't all that different to me - it's the same thing Hoshino was doing right when she came back from the hiatus. Big change from the last chapter, but look at Allen's face on the first page; that could have been copied from the colour page!

Roufa really bothers me - she's got no personality whatsoever except for fangirling over Allen. I wasn't impressed by her crying, either. Sure, I see her point, but I'm not as fond of characters who hold those beliefs without seeing the other side. I appreciated Rikei for being able to take a different belief than most DGM fans would have. He's a "good guy", yet he supports what must be done to win. I like that he isn't used as a mouthpiece for Lenalee fanboys or anything. It shows he has a character.

I can see how this might seem rushed. Looking at it in context, it feels very planned - we were hearing about the experiments during the level 4 and zombie arcs, and the Crow also appeared with the level 4. It could have been executed better, but I don't feel it really came out of nowhere, so...

Yay! This is my dream team for a mission. Damnit, we'd better get a long mission arc here.

Kanda's Accomodator-ness might have been the artificial aspect. He definitely seems to have a human past, since he's got an age/birthdate/all of that (I can't see him being clearly listed as "eighteen" - nineteen now, I guess - if he was created nine years ago). Whatever happened, though, it was related to science and some major fuck-ups.

That last panel with the flowers was pretty creepy. That one lotus would have to stand out somehow, though, right? (Is it real? I get the feeling people would flip if they saw an empty glass in Kanda's room like that...)

Yeah, I'm working on it *.*. Still, I'll have to re-read all the information of D Gray, because I want to make it closest to the real plot.

Yeah, I've many histories of various series (FMA, OP, Chrno Crusade, Naruto, etc), but I haven't uploaded anyone yet :P

This fanfic is based after Neogyps, and will have some of my theories and assumptions as well :P

A brief summary:

After the misson in Istambul, Allen has gone missing. Central declared him "DIA". The branchs don't agree with that, but have to comply. The Earl an the Noah were strangely quiet for 1 and a half year. When Komui, without the knowledge from the Central, send the Exorcists in a mission with a lead for Allen, they met with someone who was supposed to be dead... and he's with others like themselves...

Oooh, that sounds really interesting! I haven't read a good adventure/theory fic in a long time. There just aren't any good ones, really. >_> And it sounds like you're doing a lot of DGM-research for it; that's really impressive. Most writers don't do that~ How's it going? =)
