Thread: D.Gray-Man Chapter 184 - Link is such a gentleman.

It starts with Allen in the ruins of what appears to be a modern-day city, similar to the dreams we saw earlier in the series yet in a different setting. (Could that be the "end of the world" the Earl mentioned Skinn as seeing?) What do you guys think that means?

There's a line about Allen "needing to be saved", and I don't think it's just because he's a Noah. He needs to be saved from the 14th, the Earl, and himself - Allen's willing to sacrifice himself for his goals. Will we see that?

As the title suggests, Link is a gentleman who couldn't work in a room where a lady is sleeping. Yes, Lenalee has returned! I'm not fond of her hair, but she looks great otherwise (minus the injuries). And it seems she has now noticed the 14th (and we KNOW she has, not like Kanda who might have missed it - really, I wouldn't put it past him, and Lenalee's got a sixth sense anyway). Very nice scene.

Timothy's and Emilia's fates are resolved. Emilia has a sensible role, and Klaud gets a pupil.

The ending might be the most important part of this chapter, though. It seems that Madarao (and the female Crow?) is associated with Renee somehow, probably through that Egg fragment Link picked up during the level 4 battle. Could their powers be related to Dark Matter after all? Looking forward to a great information dump next chapter.

Oh, and Tyki and Road appear, but their scene was kinda boring. >_> It was kind of frustrating, actually. Also, Tyki needs a haircut.

Still waiting for the translation, but here are some thoughts:

1) Little Allen walking with Mana was great
2) 14th-Allen is freaking scary (Poor Tim...)
3) I don't dislike Lenalee hair (well, problably I'll never dislike anything on Lenalee :P)
4) Link know/is hiding something?
5) Who the hell give the hair potion to Tyki?

Well, aside that, giving the signs: the awakening draws near...

Ps.: It's Lenalee the "key" to bring back Allen from his Noah form?

You know what? I think we need to make this subforum some sort of shrine for Lenalee. She gets enough hate elsewhere - but who here doesn't love her? Be honest so I can go Skinn Boric on your asses, you haters.

I think Link knows Madarao, but that's about it - I didn't think he was hiding anything in this chapter (although he will probably hide the sealed room fact from Komui!). I'm curious as to how he knows Madarao, though. Er, I guess Crow would know each other, but with these two, it seemed more personal than just co-workers.

Tyki's hair grows faster than Lenalee's! He was wearing it long in the ball scene, too.

Kanda's "baka moyashi" seemed to bring Allen back in 182, so I'd guess it's any sort of friend-thing (or perhaps surprise - that would have startled Allen, just like seeing Lenalee IN HIS BEDROOM). Then again, Lenalee is much closer to Allen, and cares for him deeply. I could see her playing a key role in "saving" him, especially since he's a very important person to her.

...You know, I wouldn't be surprised if Tyki was using that hair potion! It's the right length, too! :3 (Dunno why no one gave it to Lenalee, though...)

If anyone is the key, it'd definitely be Lenalee. The only person Allen has ever been closer to is Mana, and, well, this chapter shows he might have to change that view now. Lenalee, at least, wouldn't care about him because he's anything other than Allen, her friend.

There's something I don't remember: has Road specified what kind of feelings she have for the 14th before he betrayed the Earl? You know, I'm suspecting that this affection she has for Allen is related with some sort of "love" for the 14th.

^I'd much rather want to know why Road had her face cut up while she was enjoying a lolipop.

We don't know how Road felt towards the 14th... or if they even knew each other, actually.

So, I just caught up with this. Is it me, or has the art-style changed? Anyway, it seems the 14th wants to take control over Allen. (Bleach all over again? Well, at the very least, Hoshino still draws backgrounds.)

Wasn't stated that she is considered the oldest Noah? I really can't remember who exactly said, tought. If she is the oldest, she has to know the 14th :P Anyway, I see your point that was never said how she really feels towards him...

For the cuts in Road, I believe there's something to do with Tyki's wounds, him going wild and breaking the windows
