Hoshino's either a Bleach fangirl or she's been doing Kubo on the side since 2004. So much influence in non-execution manners related to plot.

The art has changed since the zombie arc, yes, and perhaps even pre-G arc, but it's consistent with the rest of the G stuff. I wonder if the people commenting on the art change are comparing it to that... People said Allen's cheeks looked chubbier on the colour page, although I don't see it at all - if anything, there were moments when his cheeks looked sunken before. So... =/

Hum...maybe it´s just me who just read chapters 177 to 179 in bulk, i don´t really see any change in Hishino´s art style, significant or otherwise, in the last chapter. The artstyle already evolved through out the making of the series since it´s started to a more stylistic and "perfect" style than before which was kinda fuzzy and blurry with lots of scribbles to accentuate details in more complex drawings.

Not sure if i´m making myself clear there.

The Doll/Clown theme is not an exactly "mainstream" approach when it comes to action mangas and the drawing style of them are quite different from the rest of the manga, she makes them...disturbingly simple in design and pseudo realistic even. I like it alot.

    ANYWAYS.

The chapter or rather the chapters,. T´was cool. It´s typical, unforgiving hoshino when it comes to non important secondary characters and she already started wiping out the perfect little orphanage with the kids and nuns (Well not so perfect, since one of the nuns was a backstabbing bitch). At first i thought they were gone for good but apparently the transformation into a doll alone isn´t enough to kill a person, it just paralyzes them which means the everybody may have a struck of luck here when Timothy finishes the little prick demon that´s turning everyone into dolls.

I guess i´ve taken a liking to the orphanage much like the Black Order organization, Hoshino really knows how to deliver good, friendly environment when she puts alot of her characters together. Their interaction makes each character´s personality more likable and makes them shine more often than when they´re fighting or the most serious situation in the story. I hope the orphanage comes through all of this and Timothy makes the decision of leaving the orphanage to join the Black order with a heavy heart.

Timothy´s inner ghost or whatever he is looks pretty chillin´. Cool cat right there.

So much influence in non-execution manners related to plot.
    How so?

Hoshino's art has definitely evolved, even though people may not always prefer later art. I see what you mean, though. Characters also look much older and more mature than they used to.

I think the problem with the doll thing is that it feels like DGM's turning into another "no one dies" shounen manga. And while... well, lots of people don't die... most characters don't get mortally injured, either (and for those that do, there's a darn good plot-related excuse for why they're alive). Hoshino has been unforgiving in that sense. So... I kinda hope more dolls get crushed or whatever. Sure, they could all just die, but Link's a pretty darn cool character to waste like that. I'd be more upset if he died that way.

It's true that Hoshino did a good job with showing the readers about the warm atmosphere of the orphanage, and in just a few pages/lines.

Ah, with the Bleach things... the concepts are vaguely similar (dead former humans becoming monsters and killed by special humans with powers wearing black uniforms... Noah?Espada... some of the little things like the level 4's birth... there's more that I've heard of because I haven't really thought about it or paid attention to Bleach, but on the surface, they're similar in concept. In terms of plot execution, character development, and pretty much EVERYTHING else, they're not at all alike. But there's some superficial things (okay, the level 4 in particular to me) that make me wonder if there's some sort of tribute there. Just a little.
