This arc is actually becoming pretty cool. Developed L4 has a wicked design, exorcists are suffering damage, and more thrilling secrets about Marie revealed!

What happened to Marie almost made me cry - but that and Emilia made me speechless for days. That was an epic chapter.

Level 4's weapon seems strangely familiar... :3

I agree; this arc has gotten way better since the beginning, although I still find Timothy to be annoying, and I wish there was more plot... but it's all good~

Also notice the references to Marie being a woman? That one threw me. So she's blind, and a woman? Next they'll tell us she's a cyborg from the future or something.

But yeah, nicely planned chapter!

Didn't Lavi get infected once and survive? I can't remember. But that certainly sucks, blind and losing fingers. I don't know which subbed chapter you read, but Marie is referred to as a male twice.

...I didn't notice those references! Bad translation or something?! Marie's pretty obviously a guy (or Miranda's secretly a lesbian).

Lavi got infected on Anita's boat, but survived because Krory sucked the infection out of him. As Krory isn't here right now...

OK, yeah, maybe my one was just messed up. I read the Japanese raw scan, and the fanbook, and there was no reference to her being a woman, but I assumed the translator of the chapter must have had some sort of special info to translate it that way. Guess we can just rest assured that it's a guy, after all

Yeah, definitely. =P Marie doesn't have breasts, for one - after the Mahoja thing... I'd be willing to bet it's his name (Marie), although he's really just in the same situation as Cross; it's technically his surname. What would the world be without Engrish?

As people elsewhere have pointed out - and I didn't notice - Marie needs his fingers to fight! His effectiveness as a fighter is suddenly reduced. Damn. I'm shocked Hoshino actually made such a thing happen, particularly when it seems irreversible (onscreen, anyway)... well, maybe he'll get a prosthetic, but...

LAVI did get hit by an Akuma bullet during the arc when they were in Anita's ship. He survived because Krory (?Kroy?) immediately sucked out the Akuma poison in his blood.

As I said~ It's interesting to see that a hit from an akuma bullet isn't necessarily fatal, though! It does spread fast, but it's definitely better to live with an amputated body part than die. Of course, this will mean Marie will be a less effective fighter and risk death, but...
