Default Who have killed General Cross?

If it was discussed before just ignore it....

    There are several possibilities:
    - Rouvelier - he is obviously after Allen and Cross will be one the way should he wish to take 14th out. Better to take care of problems fast then wait for them to become bigger then they already are. Problem is that he did into act through Link and is dening it himself (not surprising though ;P), and well, get the feeling that it really is not him.

    - Pope and Co - for the same reasons.... or for some additional ones. We know nothing about their goals except for exterminating Noah, which may not be the only thing they care about. Not ot mention the possibility of Noah infiltrating the very top if church and giving commands from there.

    - Noah themselves - for obvious reasons... I don't really see it that possible, considering they had most likely established the new system of base protection (if it is not there why move the base at all) thats suppose to block infiltration unless its Allen who moves teh gate.

Maybe there are some others which i did not think of.... But well, this three are main suspects.

As for is Cross dead or not... The innocence becoming incompatible is a good argument for it, but I can't really belive in it that easily after all those revivals of main characters who were suppsoed to be dead before. So i'm still not sure.

If he is in fact dead, my money's on the Church higher-uppies.

He hasn't been playing by the rules for a long time now, and with the revelation that he has played a part in the imminent revival of the 14th Noah, I can't imagine that they are too happy with him. They probably either know, or at least suspect, he had something else planned.

Louvre seemed to think it smelled like them, too.

Church indeed had its reason to take him out; yet, he is a valuable piece of their strength that should be treasured. Unless they consider him more dangerous then Earl its not wise to get rid of him.

Louvre.... yeah, he said that; I guess its understandable, considering his job and his ways he most likely has ot fear and look out for enemies within order. So such consernes are understandable. They might mean something plot-wise, or they may be just Hoshino trying to distract us from the real suspect. I hope its church though. Might see Alllen and co rebel against them if it is the case.

I voted for the last options just for the lulz and because I donīt really think heīs dead.
But if he is,I kind think too that the higher ups did it.And Louvellier said he wasnīt the killer (well,he could have lied though...)
Things could be more complicated than we think...or not

Probably Central, as Levellier thought. He knows much more about them than the readers do. They'd have means (Crow), opportunity (duh), and probably motive (Cross knows about the 14th, has worked with him, and is something of a wild card; he may not be trusted enough to work with the Order or to even live with what he knows. Perhaps he's done what they wanted him to in revealing the information to Allen and now the risks of killing him don't outweigh the benefits). There's so much we don't know about them or what they want. Yes, Cross was a powerful Exorcist, but he could also cause tremendous harm to the Order. Maybe they used him for as long as possible and felt the need to do this; they're clearly not above killing Exorcists who are a risk to the Order (ie: Suman... no, they didn't kill him, but it's the same mentality). Exorcists are tools, not people, and if a tool might not work properly then you throw it away.

It almost certainly can't have been Levellier; why would he lie to Link? His earlier thoughts indicate he doesn't know about this, either.

I can't see it being the Noah. They'd need another spy in the Order, probably one who could do the killing to avoid problems with time and recognition... but who would have been able to get into the room anyway? Yes, the guards were asleep, but how could a Noah have snuck down the halls and done something? It can't have been an akuma; Allen would've probably awoken from the activation of his eye. The Noah wouldn't have necessarily known that the Order was moving to another HQ, where that HQ was, where CROSS would be... and all of them have other powers to kill besides a gun.

If Cross isn't dead, there's something seriously wrong with him that we'd find out... which, to me, makes it okay that he didn't die. People were speculating that he might be a Skull; could that be the case? That'd be creepy.

It can be Noah, if there are any who infeltrated the very top of the order. He'd just use the same means to do it as Higher ups, who are probably guilty of this, did.

    Skull? Lol.

We'd have to find out if it was a Noah first, but it still seems unlikely. Why would such a high-ranking Order member be at the HQ? Wouldn't someone notice and be surprised? They don't exactly just do that. It's also really risky for their disguise if caught; killing Cross would be a huge risk when one considers the influence they could otherwise exert. For that matter, why not just encourage Crow to do it? Ask them to? Still Central.

What about Skulls? (That one killed Cross?)

No-no-no, I did not mean that Church Higer Up-Noah have killed Cross by his own hands; i meant that he was the one who gave the order to eliminate General.

Aw, I've just realized that I've misunderstood you. I read it as "Cross = Skull" instead of "killer = skull". In any case i find this unlikely. Skulls are pretty hard ot not notice.... Also, they seem to have one specific function which is maintaining the Arc. Killing is not their job.

Oh, okay. In that case, it would've come from Central, so... uh... same thing! We don't know how Central works, but chances are that if a Noah is there, Central itself is aligned with the Earl. I can't see one person being given so much power and being allowed to do such things unless it was the Pope... in which case... well... Order's fucked.

Nonono, that's what I meant! I don't think a Skull could've killed Cross, so I was confused. Yeah, it's a theory people put out there what with Cross's magic (and his disguise), but that might explain why he didn't die... haven't we seen a Skull take a bullet to the head and survive?

Well, not really; in huge organizations like Church the totall control over all of its higher ups is impossible, so they have some freedom of using tools that belong to organization for themselves without others getting to know. Also, if its Noah, not Church, it makes Church innocent.

Ah lol. Can you please link me to original theory? I wanna read their arguments. Althouth i kinda can think of some myself ;P Skull is kinda dead already so it needs special weapon to be used against him to die, so no wonder.
