Thread: Chapter 171 Discussion - More new guys!

Well, this was certainly interesting - now we have another pervert! (Can't wait to see Komui and Allen kick his butt.) Reever was pretty cool here, too, as was the new scientist.

Allen's reaction to the scene was... interesting. Will post more thoughts when I read said translation. =P Timcanpy was awfully cute, though.

Nice chap. So we have one more stalker for comic relief (can't blame de guy tough, Lenalee's becoming more cute everday).

And we see that Levellier didn't give the order to take down Cross (or maybe he did, but the Central guys beat him :P). Can't stand how depressed Allen is becoming... We don't see (at least, until now) any of his friends conforting him (Miranda ruled out, she tried).

I hope to see more interactions with Allen next chap.

LoL the new guys kinda act big....And is the new one a guy or a girl that looks like Tapp?In the translation he/she said "I´m his sister" xDD (And I also forgot who Tapp is :P - have to reread D.Gray-man...)

So Leve....whatever - I just call him Hitler dude - wasn´t the killer (from what he said...).But even so,it seems there are other people - with perhaps higher influence/rank - who were after Cross....that ain´t good.

Next chapters are gonna be interesting.

Komurin version XXX will handle the people that'll develop an interest in Lenalee. (Or Komui would get them first.)

Though, the french dude gots a point, what if Allen DID kill Cross, a little body control here and there (You can leave someone's side w/o waking them =p) but, am guessing digi would shoot my theory down so I won't even argue.

Yup, Cash is Tapp's sister... despite looking... otherwise... Looks like Johnny will end up being part of a straight pairing after all. xD

(How could you leave someone without waking them - and then have them fall asleep on your shoulder again?) I think it was made clear in this chapter that Central did it, though. It wasn't Levellier; he almost certainly wouldn't lie to the ever-loyal Link, and his musings in the last chapter would confirm this too. However, Central's assassination squad is Crow... which Link is part of... I wonder...

I'm looking forward to seeing someone with an interest in Lenalee meet Peck... even Bak... that's consuming my thoughts on this chapter, argh!

Looks like Dgray is starting to get interesting again. I knew that there was more to the Exorcist organization then was let on. There always is!!! And the fact they are keeping Allen, more like watching him closely, tells you that they don't trust/like him very much. And i know Allen knows it, yet he walks around like nothing happened. That's what pisses of Kanda!!! Or maybe allen is also playing the game, until the players reveal themselves.

Yeah, it totally wouldn't have been interesting if the Order had been full of nice, Earl-hating people and Levellier was the black sheep. =D So excited to know what's next.

Of course they don't trust Allen; he's a Noah who could become volatile at any moment. It's a bit surprising that he only has one guard... or it was until we found out that Link was a member of Crow and therefore Very Dangerous. They're still using him for his Exorcist and Ark-controlling abilities, which is... also not a surprise, but it's sort of sad to know that they'd care so little about the individuals and more about how they can use everyone. Of course, keeping Allen in the Order is a good thing for him too (with his friends! ...and he gets to kill akuma, too), but that doesn't seem to be a reason for that decision.

I don't think Kanda is any more or less pissed off about Allen. What should Allen do, whine and mope about it? That'd annoy Kanda. Going on with life as if nothing's changed is probably what he himself would do, so...

Allen's strategy is probably just to continue living and killing akuma, and to deal with threats as they arise. No point in worrying over something until it happens, especially if it consumes every aspect of life.

First thing I thought at the reveal of Hitler not having ordered Cross' death was 'I wonder if Link did it separately', 'cause I'm sure he has some relation to it somehow, I don't trust him, especially since it just happened to be revealed he was a member of Crow -just- before Cross died. Granted, maybe that was on purpose.

Probably. Many (including myself) thought Levellier had somehow ordered Link/Crow to do the deed, but now we know he didn't. Unless this was a red herring - and Hoshino does like to drop those - he might very well have been involved. Link doesn't always seem to follow orders exactly as we hear them even if he is loyal to Levellier; for example, he let Allen use the Ark to get into the laboratory even though it seems he had orders to the contrary... but it turned out to work in everyone's favour. Likewise, it's possible he was following Central's orders and isn't supposed to tell Levellier.

That's exactly why Kanda is pissed, because I doubt he'd go on with life like nothing if somebody as close to him had died. He'd definitely find out who was behind it. But i think there's more to Allen then he's letting on. Note how he responded to Levellier when levellier hinted that it was the 14th who killed Cross? I think it is bothering Allen but he's not showing it. Who knows what he's planning!!! And it seems Bookmen think that something was up too. With that said, i don't think Cross is dead, he's too calculative to let himself be killed that easily even if he was caught off guard.
