"Attack on Headquarters"
Well, I was out of the country for a few days, but I got back, and picked up this new volume. But, my camera's currently on the fritz, so no pics.
The front cover has a pic of Tiedoll's team (him, Noise, Kanda, Chaoji), hanging out at what looks like a picnic in suits.
Inside cover has the team preparing for a photo shoot, Kanda being pissed about it, but giving in when he sees they have a super-cheerful cardboard cutout of him to use as a replacement if he refuses.
No chat rooms or anything like that. All there is is a bunch of pages of different members of the Order saying Hi, my name is. Here they are:
Tapp Dopp and Johnny Gill (from North America)
Reever Wenham (from the Middle East)
Rob Neel (from Oceania)
Marvin Haskin (from South America)
Skull (body created by magic. Originally human. Lives about 200 years. A body so strong it wouldn't even die from being shot.
* help make akuma
* clean the ark
* mend the Earl's clothes
* various other ship-related duties)
Cross Marian (orginally a scientist)
Frau Tiedoll (originally an artist)
Cloud Nine (originally in a beast tamer in a circus)
Winters Sokaro (originally an executioner)
And then a one-page little story with the Nurse being the mother, Linalee being the sister, Lavi being the son, and Rouvilliere being the father. Rovilliere is telling Ravi and Linalee to bathe together because they're siblings. Lavi's arguing because they're not children anymore and Linalee's crying. Then Older Brother Komui charges in and knocks Rouvilliere out for being a perverted father.
On one hand - boring. On the other hand - the fanbook did come out the same day, so... Since I'm ordering my copies tonight, I guess I'm now not-so-anxious to get it. XD That's REALLY boring.
Yep. Not much happening.
Was wondering about getting the fanbook. Probably will. The kids at school said it said a bit about Lenalee's childhood and stuff. But it just seems a bit early to have a fanbook. It feels like it's gonna be out of date soon with new info.
Who knows. It seems to have character data that probably won't be out-of-date unless there's a huge timeskip and some characters grow a little, and I think that Hoshino would probably omit information/write it in such a way that it won't ever really be out-of-date... she might need to make another one later on, but this could be a summary of what we know about the characters that won't change. And it's got stuff like ZONE too, so...
(Mine is set to arrive a week from Monday. Great timing, huh? No DGM next week, so...)
I also heard there will be some character posters... new art could be a reason to buy it.
Well, I bought it.
Has character files, mission reports, info on Innocence and HQ and stuff, fan art, colour pages which got produced in black and white in the usual Volume issues, colour pull-out posters, life in Hoshino's office, character designs (seems Lenalee was originally supposed to have short hair), first part of Zone (featuring a way different art style), and an official DGM trading card.
Funny character spellings (the official versions):
Chaozii, Malcolm C Lvellie, For, Eeez (the kid who was friends with White Tykki), Skinn Bolic.
Oh, that sounds pretty awesome. (And it's good to know that Lenalee's short hair was intentional. I really like it. <3)
But the official names... I think I've finally come across one (or two) that I'm just not going to be able to spell properly. (Guess it's Leverrier after all, then. Looks close enough.) Did Hoshino not know a single word of French or something...?
Fou. Apparently, the "r" is silent (it's pronounced as "Fo").

Also, Lvellie is just messed up :) And Chaozii annoys me. The kids at school always write じ as ZI. And つ as TU and しゃ as SYA. Despite that those spellings don't correlate to the true sounds. It's a pet hate of mine. Would have thought Katsura would have known better :(
"Foh" looked okay, I thought - "Fou" always confused me since I kept reading it in a different way...
That's really how they romanize it? (I have a folder with things written that way... it's so cute!) Kinda weird, though, considering that isn't how they're pronounced at all. Chaoji's name, though - who knows; maybe she wanted the 'zi' sound all along (which does exist in Chinese). No excuse for Leverrier's name, though. That's worse than Jeryy.
(つ = tsu, though, isn't it?)
