The Noah seem to be focusing on activities that affect the world, like starting a war among humans. The fillers are out of place to the readers, who expect serious discussion and action, but not to the characters. This is only taking up a few hours for them, and they're already engaged in an activity (moving) anyway. They wouldn't be spending the time doing something else...
