Thread: Chapter 152 Discussion - Uh, Lenalee, maybe you shouldn't be drinking that...

There's one little thing to always keep in mind about manga: The genre is almost always determined by what the genre of the mangazine it is featured in. Thusly, the pilot (or even first arc) of a manga can be of a far different style than the rest of the manga and the genre isn't adjusted as long as it doesn't break the inherent rules of the magazine it's in. You do get nudity in Shounen/Shoujo magazines from time to time. You do get really family friendly stories in Seinen from time to time. Long story short, if I were to judge by overall mood and art style, DGM to be of the typical Seinen type.

Anyway, don't let this come off as me trying to say we shouldn't call it Shounen, because it is, it's just not Naruto, Bleach, or One Piece. It's not even Inuyasha...which will never make sense being labeled as Shounen.

In terms of art, I'll confess, I think DGM looks more like a shoujo than a seinen. (Although it's still good art.) As for the mood... It could change from here, but Hoshino could definitely find a way to keep the dark mood. The level 4 was a step towards that, but it would be nice to have some more reminders of akuma creation and the like. Still, if I'm ever reminded of DGM while reading another manga (or the other way around), that other one is never seinen. Mature shounen, yes, but... well... I don't think there's any chance of DGM becoming a seinen anyway. It wouldn't make as much money, and might turn off the fangirls. =P Oh, and Hoshino would have the freedom to take even more vacations than she did last year.

You would have been happy to see those two helpers of Komui's crumble with Akuma poison, I guess? I know I was. It's been a while.

And yeah, things are pretty dark at the moment - Allen's innocence acting of its own volition and dragging his body around like a rag doll is actually kinda cool, I reckon. Though why it would be doing that exactly, I'm not sure... it wasn't acting to protect Allen directly, and it wasn't acting to protect Lenalee's innocence either (if we assume that it may do so if she was the Heart), because she didn't yet have the Innocence at that stage.

But, I'm enjoying this at the moment - just read the last two in a row after being away, and have the next one to look forward to in a couple of days. Yay Reading a few at a time is always better!

And also, Trigun rules. Never finished it though, have to get on to that.

It could be that the Innocence was reacting to Allen's strong desire to kill it. Alternatively, the Innocence could have felt like going after the level 4 itself since akuma = bad. (Allen's life wasn't in as direct danger the first time it activated - I mean, yes, Mana was supposed to be trying to kill him, but it wasn't like he was moments away from having his head cut off.) For all we know, Lenalee may have had something to do with it after all since she's still the Accomodator of the Innocence, and it was all of a few decimetres away from her hands at the time and therefore also worth protecting.

Who knows.

Or it could be Allen's influance to his Innocence for that matter. Or like Digi said, the Heart needed it's accomidator (assuming the boots are the heart) and sence it can (or so I beleive) controle or, at the very least, influance other innocence, it might of just did a "help" signal thing.

Ha, the Heart sent out a help signal. xD Actually, we did see an example of Lenalee apparently calling to Allen and he heard somehow... although she wasn't calling for him this time, was she. Hm.

hey this might be a stupid question but what ever....i just recently finished catching up in manga and i must have read too quickly or missed a part cause i don't remember what the "heart" was....can anyone fill me in? kind of don't wanna sift through all the chapter again to find it.......

The "Heart" is the core of all Innocence. Basically, if it's destroyed, all other Innocence will be too (automatically). That's why the Order wants to find it so much - to protect it.
