If the Order attempted to find ways to avoid more torture and death than absolutely necessary, I'm sure they could find a way. For one, they could stick to finding Accomodators through searching, which seems to be the natural (and safe) way.
To prove that they did improve thier way of fighting or did not we need some kind of statistics about past or something. As Long as this is not present all comparisons are bound to lack basis.

...The first time I read that, I thought you meant that the Order won't help humanity to survive, and it made me think of the backstory of DGM.
No, no I meant that our standarts of human rights won't help us survive.

For now we have no reason to assume that Order has goals other then stopping Earl.

If the Exorcists won, why would the world be destroyed? Something about that isn't right.
    Where did this come from?

In chapter 7: "Facing off against evil, [the users of Innocence] fought against the Earl of the Millenium and won. But in the end, the world was destroyed."

...Somehow, I don't see how the Exorcists won if the world was destroyed anyway.

Ow, sorry, i've totally forgotten about that. Its either that ancient Chronics were lying or God has other ways to destroy world then relying on Earl. Like Great Flood fro example.

So maybe the Flood was caused by God in retaliation since the Exorcists made those plans fail? Huh... I'd really like to get some more information on what happened then. In a later volume (between 7 and 10, I think?), it was implied that the Flood was just part of a story - it wasn't what really happened. Of course, maybe it did, and that wasn't what the line about "surface of history" was referring to...

If it was part of incorrect History, then what spread Innocence all over the world? I agree, we need further explanation as to what happened back then.

That's what's confusing. We really have no information on that time except that there was a war, the destruction of humanity (except for Noah), and Innocence was scattered.

And all info we have can simply be a part of false history. I really hope Hoshino explains that all in the end.

Considering that this is a crucial piece of information to the plot and the resolution of DGM, I don't see why it wouldn't be explained at some point (unless DGM got cancelled).

Unless Hoshino follows Kishimoto's path and starts drawing whatever pops in her head.

That seems to be the case with individual chapters, but I think she has a plan for DGM... at least, up until the Earl dies. Still, DGM isn't having the success of the Top 3, so I'm sure she can easily end it at an appropriate time.
