Which is good since stories that are easy to predict can't be interesting to read.

Yeah, he doesn't show too much concern, mostly because his inner Noah it troubling him. So I have to agree, he'll probably stay oblivious till the moment of betrayal.
So far, we haven't seen any signs of Allen being concerned about Chaoji. It did seem like everything had been forgotten after Tiki transformed, but Chaoji clearly proved that he still doesn't like Allen. I can see almost anyone else being concerned if they were in the same position, but the others have darker characters, and (except for Kanda), aren't as naive.
Oh, yes, if it is turned this way, it might lead to him becoming Bookman. I never thought about this possibility.
Lavi's interference is bound to cause him serious guilt because of what he did, though. It may lead to his determination to be a Bookman without attachment to people, and who only cares about his responsibility to writing down history - a kind of suicide, in a way, since it changes Lavi's character entirely and prevents him from being friends with the others.
I really hope so. Komui is too awesome not to have as many serious roles as possible.
