Inuyasha is actually going through a fairly decent ending. I don't want DGM to end with everyone dying, since that'd just be tragic, but I'd like to see some of the main characters besides Allen and Lenalee die. Kanda can go before the ending - maybe Lavi dies there with a big emotional scene - and one or two Exorcists (Miranda?) can make it through.

The problem with Inu-yasha is adding too many characters and making them look important while they are not (and of course Shippou, how can we forgot that little fox who had almost 50 of his own chapters which all looked the same and where completely pointless).

Also Inu-yasha broke his sword or power-uped countless times, same for Kagome. And Miroku should have died like 20 times from his Kazanna. And Sango was reunited with her brother more than once...good thing they didn't revive Kikyo !again!..haven't they ?

Hoshino hasn't been doing that so far. She almost has the opposite problem - she can't really kill off anyone important because there's still a plot that needs to be written. I don't think DGM will ever have that problem - most dismissable characters appeared in the beginning and/or died.

Kagome got power-ups? News to me... Anyway, Allen's had power-ups, but unlike Inuyasha, they don't have an effect on his previous attacks, and actually, no one really cares. He got a power-up in volume 2 and that wasn't really seen as important, and the last two just make him look way cooler. ...Er. It's a shounen manga, there will be power-ups. I don't think anyone who's broken their Innocence already will have it happen again, although Lenalee will probably get some new costume changes, and Lavi and Kanda will have new attacks (although with Lavi's seals and Kanda's seven different attacks, that was to be expected). Personally, I think as long as they're not lame and don't really do anything besides make a new pointless arc, it's not always a bad thing. It'd really suck if someone had the same damn attack for hundreds of chapters, anyway.

Yeah, I seriously don't see the connection, either - Allen doesn't even have an ex-girlfriend to get in the way (he does have a dead father who seemed to be replaced in his heart by Lenalee, if the "welcome back" thing was any indication, but that's... not the same at all). Nah, I know the Inuyasha thing was about power-ups. xD

The one who need power-ups now is Leenalee. A couple of sexy power ups, that is. It is necessary to make a ...erm... "connection scene" look solid.
