Allen cheats at cards because he feels like it and doesn't want to lose. He also cheated in one of the Reverse novels, where Lavi and Bak were playing fairly and Kanda was drunk and didn't even know how to. He even said that to Lavi - it wasn't because they're cheating, it was because he didn't feel like losing. =P
