We will have a chapter next week, at least. I hope it'll be full of talking and people actually getting out of the Ark, so that after that month-long break we have something to look forward to. Maybe Cross can explain something about Allen's or Lenalee's Innocence.

eh, this chapter was sort of a disappointment for me. Cross being awesome and super freaky powerful was seen from a mile away and it went exactly according to that stereotype. Yawn. The only part i must admit to liking is when Cross grabbed Allen and threw him high and far, muttering "filthy idiot apprentice."

Honestly, I was expecting Cross to have a parasitic-type Innocence, but i realize now that a gun rather suits his personality.

I didn't think Cross would be pwnage in that sense, though. Having good looks certainly makes it more acceptable. ^^;; Anyway, I thought it was executed pretty well, despite being predictable and not really beneficial to the story. (I thought he'd have a parasitic-type, too. Maybe that was just because he was associated with Allen, though.)

Yes, Cross does have good looks, but he reminds me mightily of Captain Shanks in Onepiece, what with the long hair and the beard and the personality and all.

Allen's face when seeing Cross extend his hand is just priceless. Poor Allen. How could a master throw his seriously injured apprentice without any regard to his wounds? Good thing that in the world of manga, people can bounce back from falling from about 5 story buildings.

...Right, that might be it... Cross seems to have been inspired by a number of famous shounen/seinen manga characters.

That face will haunt me forever; it was so funny. xD I think that was a bigger shock than getting thrown away. I guess Allen just isn't that injured, or it's the comic relief kind of injury. On the other hand, Allen's only strong aspect in fighting seems to be immortality... presumably, staying conscious and alive from that kind of thing was something he learned during his three years with Cross.

Well it is a series aimed at young/teenage girls who like romanticised, "pretty" art and androgenous, "pretty" male character designs. What were you expecting?
Whoops! Did I just type that out loud? I meant to say "^_^".

Except that the series is really aimed at teenage BOYS who don't really care about pretty men. If Hoshino ever wrote shoujo, maybe it'd gain a decent reputation...

Just like Prince of Tennis is aimed at teenage "boys" or like how ookiku furikabutte is aimed at adult "men", am I right?

They're still aimed at an audience of teenage boys. Anyway, Prince of Tennis IS aimed at guys: note the lack of romance. At any rate, DGM is made for a shounen magazine, and therefore is not supposed to be for females (the pretty men are probably just a factor of what Hoshino prefers to draw).
