Thread: Hate this manga like me?

This manga sucks! The storyline is so messed up! I read a lot of this manga and it just gets worse and worse for me. The arm thing is really disgusting, but I like the other weapons other people have. I feel like the story has no hold on me like I can quite reading it anytime without wanting to find out what is going to happen unlike a lot of mangas I have read. I feel like the author just heard of Noah and his arkbut didnt know the story at all. I mean how can only a few people be in the Noah's family. Shouldnt everyone be Noah's desendents? If indeed some people survivied the flood, there wouldnt be that many to fill up the earth, unless all the Noah's family magicly died. It just doesnt make sense for me.

Sorry it messed up your idea of pretty, clean shounen manga. Do you avoid seinen manga for their creepy stuff, too? Or do you just not read any action manga and aren't used to the idea of people having deformed body parts?

Have you even thought about the plot? I mean, D.Gray-Man isn't like Bleach, where you KNOW what is going to happen. It requires thought.

...Wait, this is why you hate the manga?! How far did you flipping read?! That's one of the big unsolved mysteries! That's why there was a page or two describing what we know about Noah's Ark, and how that's not really what happened! Of course she knows the story. EVERYONE knows the story. The fact that she's changing it and making it a fantasy story means that there are mysteries that you obviously didn't bother to think about.

By the way, you obviously know as much about Noah's Ark as you do about D.Gray-Man. Noah had THREE SONS and THEIR WIVES who survived, not thirteen kids. Anyway, Jasdevi flat out said that humans were born from the Ark. So much for your questions.

You really should bother to seriously read a manga. You might actually find that things make sense.

But ya know, if you really want your clean, perfect, predictable battles with no thought required at all, that's great. Go back to that. You'll just be missing out on some of the greatest manga ever that don't fit your mould.

EDIT: Wait. WAIT. You like CLAYMORE? How the fuck can you like Claymore and then say that Allen's arm is creepy?

That only your personal opinion. And it actually depends on what you were expecting from it. If you seek for philisofical drama then go read Dostoyevsky and do not bother with DGM. If you want a rather good shounen then you are welcome. Since DGM is a rather good sounen.

That means that you won't like any other shounen as well, since DGM's storyline is quite classical for the genre.

Looking at how Bible contradicts itself like hell a loot of times I don't think that it is that much of a crime to make this little mistake. Also: who are this members of Noah family - who were they born from? Human, right? They are just special human, nothing more.

D.Gray-Man is a bit unusual for shounen in that it has a plot that requires thought, and not just mindless reading of pure action scenes (until recently). The majority of the storyline seems to have much more of a plot than the average shounen, actually.

The last arc has gorgeous art, which makes up for everything else.

(Of course you want to know what happens next in Claymore. IT RELEASES ONCE A MONTH.)

The simple fact is that people who hate this manga almost always don't like thinking about things. That's why they don't like DGM... because a lot of things haven't been revealed yet.

(It wasn't me, it was Jakko, for spoilers. He agrees with me, though - this guy posted in lots of subforums making shitty complaint threads. I WILL ban him for that violation of the rules - Bleach, Black Cat, ES21, FMA, DGM, Futari Ecchi, Gintama...)

No DGM for ANOTHER two weeks. T_T Why did Hoshino-sensei have to take a break right before a double edition of Jump?!

DGM is actually a rather nice manga, but if you prefer other kind of shounen don't complain about stuff you haven't properly. But THAT you read the manga (partly at least) and open up a thread for your opinion is...well, it shows you are wasting brain time thinking about it...in a negative way...but still...

It isn't amusing to open threads in half the subforums saying that the manga sucks in an unintelligent way. That's not even... intelligent. :/

Thats true, but other mangas (such as Bleach for example) have such unrevealed parts too. The difference is that in DGM such things as Noah's mystery were stated in the very beginning while in Bleach they are being stated as the story goes on.

True. The main differences that I see are that things are much clearer in Bleach, except for a few mysteries that don't have as big an effect on the storyline. It isn't like not knowing anything about the King and all that is going to have an effect on Ichigo battling with Ulquiorra, for example, or make us think that Aizen isn't an evil thing. On the other hand, in D.Gray-Man, very little is known about the enemy and history, which also might affect the balance of good and evil. That's why people get confused when they read DGM - if you're not thinking and accepting that there is a lot that hasn't been revealed, things make less sense. It's more complex...

This could also be because DGM isn't going into the series of nearly unrelated arcs of other shounen manga, where the story *could* end but won't. There's a different flow to the storyline.

I like it, but that can't compensate lack of good story for me.

Okay, you have a point. I'm really looking forward to what will happen afterwards, though.
