Lucked out and was able to get to a computer where I can download the manga. Read the chapter, but now I'm confused. The SK = Cross, okay, I can see that. My main problem is if Cross is the SK that survived and came to the ark in the begining of the chapter, isn't he working for the Earl then? I can't really tell which is talking. Even if he isn't the one that said that it brings at least one new development to the manga. First off is sorcery (actual magic that seems to be able to be taught) and secondly what is Cross's Innocence power? I'm going to say compleate mimicry of the item/object/person/thing that he chooses to copy (excluding memory/any mental changes).
p.s. This means that Jasabidi (whatever their names were, don't have access to my computer and therefore the manga) MIGHT have been super close to catching Cross (remember the chicken with his hat on it, yah, it was Cross), but didn't think about that.
Cross isn't working for the Earl. He was seen in the Ark before it was deleted, when Road asked Tiki if he changed cigarette brands. I guess he really was just skulking around and waiting, although there is presumably something weird with the Ark that allows him to do that (ie: it doesn't disintegrate immediately after all?). At the beginning of the chapter, he was talking to an akuma, I guess.
Sorcery? Where was that shown? Cross's Innocence seems to be destructive, like everyone else's (he blew up the floor, after all).
I don't think Cross is the chicken. We saw the chicken in places where the Noah were waiting that definitely weren't the Ark, and Timcanpy has also been hanging around Cross ever since they all came to Edo... he's kind of big, so I'm sure someone would have noticed him.
Wow, people still watch the anime?
Anyways, I haven't read any D.gray in like two months, so I just done some speed reading, and WTF? Wasn't expecting that at the end of my little marathon. The last six or so chapters have seriously left me in awe for the amount of shit you can throw into one series. My head hurts.
The translation I read stated something about having to be a mystic in order to unravel a seal and that the innocence wouldn't help, so either DM or something else. Also in the begining of the chapter there was the part with the 2 SK look alikes and I did admidt to not being able to tell the diffrence between which is talking. Also there can be no doubt that Cross was one of the two by the end of the chapter (the re-absorbtion of the mask as well as the comments prior made it painfully obvious). This also leans to the fact the Arc is an "egg" type thing in a sub-space/dimention deal. As far as the cigg thing and seeing Cross, well I'm still at a computer that doesn't have the archive, so I can't check it now.
Also note that I said compleate mimicry, meaning that he would gain the powers (if any) of the person whom he immitated. The SKC (Skull Knight Clone) obviously had the ability to enter the arc, just based on his words, so Cross could of gained them upon seizing that form. The one foil you have me at is Timcampy. I don't recall seeing him around there at all, but then agian with Tim being an advanced and specialized golom, who knows. It seemed that he shrunk again when he went to Cross on the last page, maybe that is its super-special ability.
Anyone needing the Scanlation download?
Chapter 127 Scanlation
Ohhhh, THAT talk... I probably read the same translation. (Cross is wearing the giant coat, isn't he? From the context, it sounds like he's the one who isn't talking about his master and how you can't get through and all that.) The fact that he wasn't right there... yeah, so it is in a sub-dimension? That part will need LOTS of explanation; I sort of ignored it, since I couldn't make sense of it at all.
It seems that the SK thing was a mask or something. Mimicry seems like a pretty amazing ability; I'm surprised that if it's true, no one has thought of it before. It seems more likely to me that Cross just threw on a mask to fool the akuma or whatever, and is really good at running away - or maybe his Innocence abilities involve dimension-moving, which would explain his powers and how he gets away so quickly?
(I don't watch the anime; I just occasionally see a summary of it and cry myself to sleep.)
Good point with the transporting innocence idea, could be true. I was thinking the mimicry thing mostly because he is a General and I beleive that the General's power should be more powerful then most other Innocence ability. Also by the compleate mimicry you would gain an attack and a way to counter the attack (possible immunity) of the enemy. Also with Cross's Innocence being his eyepatch, something dealing with some sort of illusion (even mimicry) seems somehow apropriate.
Then again, your point is also valid with the potential of the warp ability being why he can convert akuma. Then again, look at Allen's Innocence. Who knows if all generals have the ability to "create" several forms of their innocence with diffrent abilities? Possibaly two forms at least (one for under 100 % sync and one for 100+%) based just on what it means to be a general.
Also DE, both of them are wearing the same coat. The main diffrence is that one is being destroyed by the other. I figured the "egg" that they were outside of was the arc.
The only General whose Innocence we know plenty about has a pretty weak, ability, though. ^^;; I'd say that transporting dimensions is pretty interesting too, though. His Innocence is his eyepatch?! Wow, I didn't see that.
The multiple-forms thing isn't really new, though, especially for Allen - he has the basic transformation of his hand, and special abilities. Even his over-100% ability is just an extension of Crowned Clown, not a new thing altogether. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same with Cross - he's got a basic powerful attack, and an extension of that with a special power (converting akuma/dimensions/whatever we figure it out to be).
Oh, they were? Whoops. ^_^;; I just saw Cross as the one that wasn't beaten up.
After a shower and some food, a new idea came to me. What if Cross uses more then one Innocence. True, there is no precident for this, nor has it really been hinted at, but it would be an interesting catch. Another option is the Innocence that he has is acting on a "self-preservation" instinct, and letting him temperarily use them (kind of like what Yoh does now and again in S.K.). Remember he has at least 5 innocence on him besides his own (as stated whith the Generals being main targets).
One more thing Digi: while I like your idea, how many times do we see a theame repeated (for powers) in DGM? I can't really see anything that truely overlaps (save Allen copying Kanda for a sword w/v2 claw and then unintentinaly for the sword (he couldn't know that the Earl had an exact oposet looking one) of Krown Clown). This goes in contridiction with Cross having any ability to actually warp, scince that is Rhode's schtick. Don't get me wrong, I do like the idea, but I figure that everyone does something diffrent since things tend not to be repeated.
Eh, I can't see anyone being able to use more than one Innocence; Hoshino-sensei would probably only introduce that to shorten the series if DGM was threatening to be cut off or something (and it's just gaining popularity). We also haven't seen anything like that before, and it does make one wonder why someone like Yeegar wouldn't have been saved by the eight other Innocence he was carrying if it could do so. Also, the "self-preservation" thing seems to be kind of unusual, at least in saving someone from death.
There could be a difference with the powers, though. Road creates dimensions and seems to have some mind-trapping ability, while Cross could just have some super-special run-away power. xD It probably relates to converting akuma, though. It *was* stated that anyone could enter the Ark at this time. (Also, Road is a Noah, so for all we know, Noah powers COULD be repeated. Unlikely, but more possible than Innocence.)
